The X300 FE is a conventional 6.31-inch phone with a listed 6,500 mAh battery and a 50 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The Fold8 opens from a 5.5-inch cover display to a 7.6-inch inner screen, and its listed typical battery capacity is 4,800 mAh. In an India price snapshot, the Fold8 was listed ₹80,000 higher—but the listings do not establish identical retail conditions or configurations.
What is the main difference between the vivo X300 FE and Galaxy Z Fold8?
The biggest distinction is the design. The X300 FE is a standard slab-style phone; the Fold8 is a book-style foldable that opens into a larger display. That makes the comparison less about choosing a single “better” specification sheet and more about deciding whether you want a conventional phone or a phone that can unfold into a broader workspace.

Which screen suits your use?
Choose the X300 FE’s conventional format for a standard phone experience
Its 6.31-inch display sits in a familiar slab-style design. It avoids the need to open a device to access its main screen, while its listed 191 g weight and 7.99 mm thickness give a clearer sense of the India-market model’s physical format. Those figures do not, by themselves, establish how comfortable it will feel in every hand or pocket.

Choose the Fold8 when an unfolding display matters
The Fold8 provides a 5.5-inch cover screen for use while folded and a 7.6-inch inner display when opened. That larger unfolded area may suit reading, media, or multitasking better than a conventional phone screen. Whether it is worth the added cost depends on how often you will use that larger workspace; the display sizes alone cannot answer that for every buyer.

How do their cameras compare?
vivo lists three rear cameras: a 50 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide, and a 50 MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. Samsung lists two 50 MP rear cameras, wide and ultra-wide. The clearest hardware distinction is the vivo’s explicitly listed telephoto camera. These specifications do not establish image quality, and megapixel counts are not a substitute for comparable photo testing.

- Precise cutouts are designed for easy access to all ports, buttons and camera. The buttons are soft, responsive and easy to press, and are easy to install and remove.
Does the larger listed battery mean longer battery life?
No direct battery-life winner can be established from the capacities alone. vivo lists 6,500 mAh for the X300 FE; Samsung gives the Fold8 a typical capacity of 4,800 mAh and a rated capacity of 4,660 mAh. Capacity figures are not comparable real-world endurance tests.
Samsung separately advertises up to 26 hours of continuous video playback for the Fold8, based on its internal lab conditions; actual playback time varies. That manufacturer estimate should not be compared directly with the vivo’s battery-capacity figure as if both measured the same thing.

What should you check before buying?
- Format: Decide whether you want a conventional phone or a foldable with a larger inner screen.
- Exact configuration: Confirm memory and storage for the specific model and market; the India price snapshot does not establish fully matched retail conditions.
- Local purchase terms: Check the final checkout price, seller, warranty, and stock in your country.
- Ownership support: Compare local software support and repair options; the cited product information does not establish those details for both phones across every region.
- Availability by market: Samsung Mobile Press said on August 5, 2026 that the Fold8 was available for pre-order in the United States, with general availability starting August 7, 2026. That announcement applies to the US and should not be treated as a launch date for other countries: Samsung Mobile Press.
