The vivo V80 is no longer a certification story. vivo India launched it on October 6, 2026, at its vivo NEXT 2026 event in New Delhi, after a September report tied the model to 90W wired charging. This article separates what the certification listings showed from what vivo has since published, and flags where the official details still depend on the market you buy in.
What the certification listings showed
In early September 2026, The Tech Outlook reported that Indonesia’s SDPPI database listed model V2648 as the vivo V80. The listing carried certificate 126079/DJID/2026, dated September 2, 2026. The same report described a TÜV listing, certificate SG PSB-IV-17428, associated with 90W wired charging. The Tech Outlook’s report was a secondary account of database entries, not a capture of the certification bodies’ own pages, and it said the rest of the specifications were still under wraps at that time.

Certification establishes that a model has been filed and cleared for sale in a given market. It does not establish a feature set, a price or a launch date, which is why the rest of this article relies on vivo’s own publications.

The official launch
vivo India’s newsroom dated its vivo NEXT 2026 announcement October 6, 2026. The announcement names the V80 among the phones launched at the event, which also covered the X Fold6, the S2 FE and OriginOS 7. vivo positions the V80 as a creator phone, built around 4K Cinematic Video, ZEISS co-engineered imaging and what it calls 30+ AI-powered creative experiences. The AI figure is a manufacturer claim, and availability may vary by country, language, device settings and app.

Paigham Danish, identified by vivo India as CTO and Head of Product & GTM at vivo India, put the positioning this way:

Reading the battery and charging figures
vivo publishes two capacity figures for the V80. The typical value is the higher of the two, and the rated value is the one to use when you want the more conservative number. Neither figure is an independent battery-life result, so treat both as the manufacturer’s stated capacity rather than a measure of how long the phone lasts on a charge.
The 90W rating is the one the certification report flagged, and the official listing confirms it, with two conditions. It applies only with the original charger and data cable, and the phone adjusts charging power during use rather than holding the peak rate throughout. Using a third-party adapter or cable falls outside the stated conditions.

Camera setup for creators
The V80’s camera array is built around three 50 MP lenses and a lower-resolution wide-angle. The telephoto and main cameras both carry optical image stabilisation, while the 8 MP wide-angle is listed without that feature. The front camera is 50 MP. Video is listed at 4K and 1080p. vivo’s ZEISS co-engineering claim concerns the imaging design; no independent image-quality comparison is available for the V80 at the time of writing.
Regional differences and water resistance
vivo’s UAE product page presents similar core positioning and feature claims, but the specifications, service availability and software features should be checked against your own market. Its water-resistance notes are worth reading closely:

What is in the box
The India listing says the box includes a phone case, a protective film already applied to the screen, and a USB power adapter. These are supplied items. A separate case, screen protector or charger is an optional extra, and the listing does not require one. Whether the same contents apply in other markets is not established here.
