At their India launch in April 2025, the vivo V50 cost INR 6,000 more than the vivo V50e at each storage size both phones shared: INR 34,999 versus INR 28,999 for 8 GB + 128 GB, and INR 36,999 versus INR 30,999 for 8 GB + 256 GB. Prices included taxes. The V50 also has the stronger paper specifications, including a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, a larger 6,000 mAh typical battery, and a second 50 MP rear camera for ultra-wide shots. The V50e is the cheaper of the two, and its specifications are closer to the V50 than the price gap might suggest.

The price difference at launch
vivo’s launch announcements set the following India prices, inclusive of taxes:

The gap is the same at both shared storage sizes, so the V50 premium is not driven by a capacity difference. The V50e’s launch pricing was announced in vivo India’s April 10, 2025 announcement, which stated that the V50e would be priced at INR 28,999 (inclusive of taxes) for 8 GB + 128 GB and INR 30,999 (inclusive of taxes) for 8 GB + 256 GB. Both phones were listed for sale through Amazon India at launch.

Check current prices before you buy
Launch prices are a dated snapshot. Later vivo India store listings have shown different figures. One listing showed the V50e at INR 33,999 for 8 GB + 128 GB and INR 35,999 for 8 GB + 256 GB, and another showed the V50 12 GB + 512 GB at INR 48,999. Those listings were captured on unstated dates, so treat them as examples of how prices move rather than current offers.
When comparing live prices, separate four figures: the list price (MRP), the store’s selling price, bank or card offers, and exchange bonuses. The effective price after those deductions is the one that matters. Also note that launch-period bundles do not carry forward. For example, vivo’s April 17, 2025 V50e sale notice offered vivo TWS earbuds at INR 1,499 with purchase, and that offer was limited to that sale period.

Processor: what the chip names do and do not tell you
The V50 uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, and the V50e uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 built on a 4 nm process. Both are mid-range chips, and the names alone do not show how the phones compare in games, multitasking, or heat management. No independent benchmark of these two phones was used for this article, so any claim that one feels faster in daily use would go beyond the evidence. If processing speed is your main concern, look for a hands-on test that runs both phones under the same conditions.

- V50: a 50 MP OIS main camera and a 50 MP autofocus ultra-wide camera with a 119.4° field of view. That lets the ultra-wide lens take sharper close-up shots than a fixed-focus lens would.
- V50e: a 50 MP Sony IMX882 OIS main camera paired with an 8 MP wide-angle camera. The main sensor and stabilisation match the V50’s main camera on paper, but the secondary lens has far lower resolution.
Both phones list a 50 MP front camera, and the V50’s specification also calls out autofocus. Megapixel counts do not decide image quality on their own, and neither official page provides a photo comparison, so the camera section should be read as a hardware difference only.
Battery, charging, and display
The V50 has the larger battery, at a typical capacity of 6,000 mAh. The V50e lists 5,600 mAh typical, or 5,490 mAh rated. Typical capacity is a manufacturer figure and is not a measured battery-life result. Both phones support 90 W wired charging, and neither specification lists wireless charging.

The displays share the same size and resolution: 6.77 inches, 2392 × 1080, with AMOLED panels and refresh rates up to 120 Hz. The V50’s listed local peak brightness is 4,500 nits, against 1,800 nits for the V50e. Those numbers come from vivo’s specifications and have not been checked by an independent screen test.

Both models ship with Android 15 and Funtouch OS 15, and both list IP68 and IP69 ingress protection. Software update commitments and warranty terms can differ by country and seller, so check the current policy in your region before buying.

Which one to choose
- Choose the V50 if you want the 12 GB + 512 GB option, the larger listed battery, the higher listed screen brightness, or the second rear lens. You will pay INR 6,000 more than the V50e at the shared storage sizes at launch.
- Choose the V50e if you want the lower launch price and the 8 GB + 128 GB or 8 GB + 256 GB configuration is enough. You give up the larger battery, the 12 GB + 512 GB option, and the ultra-wide camera.
Before you decide, compare the current price after offers, the storage you actually need, and whether the ultra-wide camera matters to you. Those three checks will usually settle the choice more than the spec sheet alone.
