The vivo V40e prioritizes a slimmer, lighter design, an AMOLED display and faster charging; the vivo T5x offers a larger listed battery, a newer listed processor and software combination, faster storage and higher stated dust-and-water protection. Their camera hardware also differs, but specifications alone cannot establish which phone takes better photos or lasts longer in real use. Official India store listings show prices for different configurations, so they do not support a dependable like-for-like price difference.

Which phone has the better display?
The V40e is the AMOLED option, with a listed 6.77-inch, 2392 × 1080 panel at 120 Hz. The T5x has a nearly identical listed diagonal of 6.76 inches, but uses an LCD panel with 2344 × 1080 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Choose based on panel preference as well as size: the small diagonal difference does not make these displays equivalent, and the specifications do not establish comparative brightness or image quality.
Processor and software: newer listed platform on the T5x
vivo lists a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 and Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14 for the V40e. For the T5x, it lists a Dimensity 7400-Turbo and OriginOS 6.0 based on Android 16. Both are 5G phones. These are the listed processor and software versions; they are not benchmark results, and the specifications alone do not quantify real-world speed, update support or day-to-day software preference.

Battery, charging and portability are a trade-off
The T5x has the larger manufacturer-listed battery capacity at 7200 mAh, compared with 5500 mAh for the V40e. The V40e, however, has the higher listed wired charging rating: 80W versus 44W for the T5x. These figures describe capacity and charging ratings, not independently measured battery life or charge times.
The difference is also apparent in the listed dimensions and weight: the V40e is 7.49 mm thick and weighs 183 g, while the T5x is 8.39 mm thick and weighs 219 g. The V40e is the more compact-feeling option on those specifications; the T5x pairs its larger capacity with a heavier, thicker body.

Camera hardware: different strengths on paper
The V40e lists a 50 MP Sony IMX882 main rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8 MP ultrawide camera and a 50 MP autofocus front camera. The T5x lists a 50 MP Sony IMX852 main rear camera alongside a 2 MP bokeh camera, plus a 32 MP front camera. vivo also advertises front and rear 4K recording for the T5x in its product overview.

Those details describe camera hardware and advertised features, not a direct image-quality comparison. Megapixel counts do not show how cameras perform in varied lighting, and the listed specifications do not establish which phone produces better photos or video.

Storage, configurations and protection
Both phones list LPDDR4X RAM, but vivo specifies UFS 2.2 storage for the V40e and UFS 3.1 for the T5x. The V40e is listed in 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB configurations. T5x configurations listed by vivo are 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB.
For protection, vivo’s V40e store material states IP64; its T5x specification page states IP68 and IP69. These ratings indicate different stated protection levels, but the figures should not be read as proof that either phone is indestructible or that the models underwent identical test conditions. vivo describes the T5x as having “IP68 & IP69+ Top-Rated Dust and Water Resistance” on its overview page; that is the manufacturer’s wording, not independent testing.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the V40e if an AMOLED panel, lower listed weight and thickness, 80W charging, OIS on the main camera, an ultrawide rear camera or a 50 MP autofocus selfie camera matter most to you.
