On published specifications, the vivo T5x 5G has the sharper display and the higher-tier listed chipset, while the realme 16T 5G has the larger battery and the faster 144 Hz refresh rate. Neither spec sheet proves a real-world speed or battery-life winner, and retailer prices change too often to support a fixed price gap. Choose the phone whose listed strengths match your priorities, then confirm the price for the same RAM and storage configuration on the day you buy.
How to choose between them
- Choose the vivo T5x 5G if sharp text and video matter more to you than refresh rate or battery capacity. It lists a 6.76-inch FHD+ panel at 2344 × 1080, a MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Turbo, and 44W charging.
- Choose the realme 16T 5G if you want the bigger battery and the smoother 144 Hz panel. It is listed with a 6.81-inch HD+ screen at 720 × 1570, a MediaTek Dimensity 6300, an 8000 mAh battery and 45W charging.
- Do not decide on price alone until you have compared the same storage tier on live pages. The two listings you can find today are not reliable enough to name a winner on cost.

Display: sharpness against refresh rate
The two screens trade off in opposite directions. The vivo T5x’s listed 2344 × 1080 resolution gives it roughly 2.5 million pixels, against roughly 1.1 million for the realme 16T’s listed 720 × 1570 panel. The difference is most visible in small text, icons and fine detail. The aspect ratios also differ slightly, so pixel count is a rough guide rather than a precise measure of clarity.
The realme’s listed 144 Hz refresh rate is higher than vivo’s 120 Hz. Both are smooth for everyday scrolling, but the 144 Hz figure is the more noticeable advantage in fast-moving content, if the phone actually runs at that rate in the apps you use. Both screens are LCD panels, so neither should be expected to match the contrast of an OLED display.

Performance: what the chipset names do and do not tell you
The vivo T5x is listed with the MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Turbo, and the realme 16T with the Dimensity 6300. On the specification sheet, the Dimensity 7400-Turbo is the stronger chip. realme’s own marketing describes a “rock-solid 60FPS experience in mainstream games,” a claim the company makes without an independent test cited here.
A chipset name tells you the design tier, not the speed you will see. Real performance depends on cooling, software updates, background apps and how each manufacturer tunes its power limits. Until an independent benchmark or long-term test is published for both models, treat vivo’s processor advantage as a specification difference, not a measured one.
Battery and charging
The realme 16T has the larger rated battery at 8000 mAh, compared with 7200 mAh on the vivo T5x. Its listed charger is also slightly faster at 45W, against 44W. The gap in wired charging is too small to matter in daily use.
Battery life is shaped by screen resolution, refresh rate, chip efficiency and software. The realme’s 144 Hz panel will draw more power than a 120 Hz panel if it runs at the higher rate. The vivo’s higher-resolution screen also takes more power to drive. The larger battery is a real advantage on paper, but it does not guarantee a longer day. No identical-conditions battery test for these two models has been cited.

Both phones lead with a 50 MP rear camera. vivo’s official listing adds a 2 MP secondary sensor, and realme’s listing describes its main camera as a Sony sensor. The vivo front camera is listed at 32 MP and the realme at 16 MP.
Megapixel counts do not show how photos will look. Sensor size, lens quality, processing and night mode matter more. No independent photo comparison for either phone is cited here, so the front-camera difference should be read as a resolution figure only.
Durability: what vivo claims and what it qualifies
vivo’s product page carries the headline “IP68 & IP69+ Top-Rated Dust and Water Resistance.” The same page adds that “This product is not a professional waterproof phone.” vivo says its test results come from laboratory conditions, that actual performance may vary by software version, environment, model and user habits, and that water and dust resistance may decline with use.

In practice, that means the vivo T5x can be rated for dust and water exposure under specific test conditions, but it should not be treated as a phone you can rely on in water as a general rule. The realme 16T’s official page does not give an equivalent rating in the material reviewed, so no durability comparison can be drawn.
Price difference: why no fixed gap can be stated
There are two reasons this article does not name a price winner. First, the retailer prices shown on comparison and store pages change from one visit to the next. The official vivo store listing returned different amounts for different variants and availability states. Second, no official realme price for the matching configuration was retrieved, so there is nothing like-for-like to compare against the vivo listing.
To check the real difference yourself, follow these steps:
- Open the vivo T5x 5G listing on the vivo Store India page and note the price for 6 GB + 128 GB, 8 GB + 128 GB or 8 GB + 256 GB.
- Open the realme 16T 5G on the realme India product page and confirm which memory configuration is on sale, since the official page reviewed here did not list them.
- Check at least two retailers for each phone, recording the price, the seller, and the time of the check.
- Compare only the same RAM and storage tier, and only the same offers, such as bank discounts or exchange deals, when they apply.
- Treat any price you record as a snapshot. Repeat the check the day you intend to buy.
For a broader cross-check of specifications and approximate retailer prices, the 91mobiles comparison page places the two phones side by side, but its price figures should be confirmed against live listings.

- Real-world benchmark, gaming or thermal results for either phone under identical conditions.
- Image quality comparisons from the two camera systems.
- A same-date, same-storage price difference from official or retailer pages.
- The realme 16T’s official memory configurations, box contents, weight and support or update commitment. Specifications from other realme 16-series models do not apply to the 16T and should not be used to fill these gaps.
The vivo T5x’s official specifications, including its Android 16 build with OriginOS 6, are taken from vivo’s own India page. The realme figures come from realme’s India page and the 91mobiles comparison, which lists the display, chipset and charging speed.
