What controls and features does it offer?
The E310 has a variable speed dial with ten speeds, plus Start/Stop and Pulse switches. Vitamix says the speed range allows users to adjust texture and describes pulse as a way to combine coarse chopping with smoother purées. Those are manufacturer descriptions; no independent test here verifies results for particular foods.
The manufacturer also describes a self-cleaning cycle that takes 30 to 60 seconds using warm water and a drop of dish soap, and labels the container dishwasher-safe. These cleaning claims have not been independently tested in the evidence available for this review.

Will it fit on your counter?
Vitamix’s current US listing gives the E310 dimensions as 9 × 8 × 18 inches, a product weight of 10.5 pounds, and a 4.5-foot cord. Measure the intended counter location with enough clearance to access the controls and remove the container. The owner’s manual lists a different depth—11 inches—alongside an 18-inch height and 8-inch width; check the specification for the exact regional unit you plan to purchase rather than assuming the two references describe identical measurements.

The current US product page specifies household use and 110–120 V. The 2018 owner’s manual lists 1000–1200 W, 220–240 V, and 50–60 Hz for the regional model documented there. Those manual voltage figures should not be applied to every E310. Match the appliance’s rating label and regional product documentation to your local supply before use; do not assume a unit sold for another market is electrically suitable.
