VIGÍA ML is presented by its author as a browser-based gas-well analytics demonstration for forecasting production, detecting anomalies, diagnosing faults, and suggesting operational responses. TensorFlow.js can run machine-learning workloads in a browser, but that capability does not validate VIGÍA ML’s predictions or establish that it is ready for real-well operations. The available project descriptions also conflict on whether the demo uses synthetic telemetry or data loaded by a user.
What VIGÍA ML is described as doing
Project author Edison Flores describes VIGÍA ML as a predictive console for gas wells. Its stated functions include production forecasting, anomaly detection, fault diagnosis, and operational recommendations, with models running in the browser. The article lists React 18, TypeScript 5.7, TensorFlow.js 4.22, Vite 6, and Tailwind 4 as its implementation stack. These are claims in the author’s September 19, 2026 article, not an independent inspection of the current build or its model results. Read the project author’s description.

How TensorFlow.js makes browser-based machine learning possible
TensorFlow.js is a JavaScript machine-learning library for browser and Node.js environments. Its documented capabilities include using existing JavaScript models, converting Python TensorFlow models, retraining existing models, and building and training models in JavaScript. That makes the broad technical premise of a browser-based ML interface plausible; it does not independently confirm which models VIGÍA ML uses or how well they work. TensorFlow.js official documentation.
Running inference in a browser can avoid sending each inference request to a server, but browser execution is not automatically private, offline, or equally fast everywhere. A research paper on TensorFlow.js discusses constraints including browser performance, GPU access, differences among browsers, and the browser’s single-threaded execution model. Actual behavior depends on the app, device, browser, model, and network setup. TensorFlow.js: Machine Learning for the Web and Beyond.
#1 Best Overall
- Effective Gas Leak Detector: The TOPTES PT520A natural gas detector detects leaks of methane, propane, natural gas, LPG, butane, and more in tight spaces
- Flexible Probe: The 17-inch gooseneck allows easy access to hard-to-reach areas like pipelines, storage tanks, gas fireplaces, and basements, ideal for both indoor and outdoor leak detection. During use, point the probe toward the suspected leak source and move as close as 1–5 cm
- Visual and Audible Alarm: PT520A responds in 0.5 seconds, with 7 colored bars and a 75dB alarm that increase with gas concentration. Detection range: 50-10,000 ppm (Methane)
- User-Friendly Functions: Enable or disable Auto Power-Off with the APO button to save power after 10 minutes of inactivity. The Mute button silences the alarm, and the non-slip, wear-resistant design ensures a secure, comfortable grip for easy handling
- What You Get: 1×PT520A Gas Leak Detector, 3×AAA Batteries, 1×Protective Case, and 1×User Manual. Allow 30 seconds of warm-up in clean air before starting detection
Does VIGÍA ML use real gas-well data?
The available descriptions do not settle that question. Flores’s article says models train on data users load and emphasizes on-device data handling. In contrast, the GitHub repository search listing describes the demo telemetry as synthetic. The listing was updated in August 2026, but the repository page could not be directly reviewed for this account, so the discrepancy may reflect different versions or different descriptions of the project. Check the current repository listing, README, and license file.
Until the current app and repository clarify the data source and validation status, treat VIGÍA ML as a demonstration rather than a proven tool for field decisions. The reviewed materials establish no independently validated results on real wells, held-out operational data, or diagnostic accuracy. The author reports “140 tests passing,” but a test count is not evidence of model accuracy, field validation, or safe operational recommendations.

- Compact Design: Pocket-sized, non-slip, and easy to carry or store in the included bag. Ideal for RV owners, DIYers, and homeowners with gas appliances. Saves you from paying hundreds of dollars in diagnostics or wasting gas in an undetected leak
- What You Get: 1x PT199 Gas Leak Detector, 1x Storage Bag, 2x AAA Batteries, 1x User Manual. Detection range: 50-1,000 ppm (based on methane). Detection distance: 1-5cm
What the browser-first design does—and does not—establish
The author describes VIGÍA ML as a progressive web app (PWA), says its data stays on-device, and characterizes offline use, inspectable model weights, and zero marginal inference cost as design properties. These remain project claims rather than independently tested findings. A browser-based interface may reduce reliance on server-side inference, but that alone does not prove that all data remains local, that every feature works offline, or that performance is consistent across devices.
- Privacy: confirm what the deployed app stores or transmits, including any analytics, telemetry, or model downloads, before using sensitive operational data.
- Offline operation: test the specific build and browser without a network connection; a PWA label alone does not establish which functions remain available.
- Performance: test on the intended device and browser with representative workloads. TensorFlow.js documentation does not guarantee uniform speed or hardware acceleration across environments.
- Operational decisions: independently validate predictions and recommendations against appropriate engineering review and operational data before relying on them.
Can you use VIGÍA ML commercially?
The repository search listing identifies an AliceLabs Source-Available License v1.0 (AL-1.0), describing noncommercial use as permitted and commercial use as requiring written authorization. Because the repository’s actual license file was not directly reviewed here, do not treat the listing as a substitute for the license terms. Verify the current license in the repository and obtain any required authorization before commercial use.

What to verify before trying the demo
- Open the current VIGÍA ML repository and confirm whether its README still describes synthetic telemetry, user-provided data, or both.
- Inspect the current application and its documentation to determine what data inputs it accepts and whether those inputs are stored or transmitted.
- Check the deployment’s offline behavior and performance in the browser and on the device you intend to use.
- Review the current license file and secure written permission if your planned use is commercial and the license requires it.
- Do not treat generated forecasts, diagnoses, or recommendations as validated operational guidance without evidence of suitable testing on relevant well data.
