The official Versionista guidance reviewed does not identify an India-specific restriction, so treat the site’s location as a clue to investigate—not a confirmed cause.
1. Identify which alert you expected
Versionista handles scheduled summary emails and instant alerts separately. Summary emails are sent daily by default when changes were detected during the preceding 24 hours; the reporting frequency is adjustable in Account Settings. A missing immediate notification may simply mean that instant alerts are not enabled for the affected page.

- Open the affected monitored page in Versionista.
- Expand Crawl.
- Check whether the instant-alert switch is enabled. Versionista says instant alerts are off by default and configured per page.
If you expected a summary rather than an immediate message, continue with the account-level report settings.
2. Check report settings, recipients, and email history
- In Account Settings, confirm the summary frequency and whether reports with no detected changes should be sent.
- Verify that the expected recipient is configured to receive the relevant account reports.
- Check any folder or category restrictions to make sure they include the affected site or page.
- Review the email history in Account Settings to see whether Versionista recorded sending the expected report.
If the history records a send, check the recipient mailbox’s spam folder, filters, blocked-sender list, and forwarding rules. Versionista’s reviewed documentation does not identify a specific India-related email-delivery cause, so a send record does not by itself explain what happened after dispatch.

3. If the missing notice concerns a new URL, check discovery separately
Finding a new URL and monitoring that URL for later changes are different steps. Versionista says new-URL discovery on each crawl and reporting newly found pages are enabled by default, but those settings can be changed. Its tutorial states a limit of 50 new URLs per scan and up to 150 per monitored site; discovered URLs are included in email reports. A discovery notice does not necessarily mean every found URL is already monitored for changes.
- Check that URL discovery is enabled for the monitored site.
- Check the setting for reporting newly found pages.
- Review the scan’s results and confirm that the URL was among those discovered.
- If you need ongoing change alerts for a discovered URL, verify that it has been added as a monitored page.

4. Review filters and focus phrases
A real page change may not count as a reportable change under the page’s detection settings. Filters can exclude areas of a page. Focus phrases narrow detection further: Versionista registers a new version only when one of the listed phrases is added or deleted. Its focus-phrase feature applies to HTML and plain text, not images, PDFs, or Word documents.

- Inspect page filters for exclusions that cover the changed content.
- Confirm that focus phrases are appropriate for the kind of change you expect to detect.
- If the relevant change is in an image or document, do not expect focus-phrase matching to detect it.

5. Confirm that Versionista is capturing the expected page
Look at the page’s recent captures or version history. Check whether the latest capture contains the change you expected an alert about. If the captured page is blank, incomplete, or different from what you see in your own browser, investigate what Versionista received before changing notification settings.
Redirects are one possible detail to inspect. Versionista’s API documentation describes adding a URL through its watch endpoint and says redirect following can be enabled; it recommends setting redirect to true. The documentation labels the feature experimental. This is relevant when a target URL redirects, but API use is not documented as a way to diagnose regional access failures.

For the endpoint and options, consult Versionista’s API documentation. Compare the requested URL, redirect destination, and captured version. Do not infer that a redirect setting explains the problem unless the capture evidence supports it.
6. Treat India as a diagnostic clue, not an established cause
The official Versionista sources reviewed do not state an India-specific limitation, identify the location of its crawler, or promise special handling for Indian websites. A site’s response can vary by network or access conditions, but those possibilities are hypotheses—not established explanations for a missed alert.

If settings and reports look correct, gather page-specific evidence before deciding what is wrong:
- Check whether the target page is accessible to the Versionista service and whether its recent capture shows the expected content.
- Inspect whether the URL redirects and whether the destination content differs from the page you expected.
- Compare the captured version with the change you expected Versionista to detect.
- Use the capture and email histories to distinguish a crawl or detection issue from a notification-delivery issue.
7. Understand the current Versionista account context
Versionista’s homepage says new website-monitoring accounts are available through Fluxguard and that existing Versionista customers remain supported. It does not say existing customers must migrate, or that Fluxguard resolves an India-related alert problem.
