First identify what the tablet is doing
Before trying to erase anything, note whether the Ellipsis 7 reaches Android settings, is frozen on the welcome screen, powers off or stays dark, or displays a recovery screen with “no command.” The right next step depends on that state. A restart only cycles power; a factory reset erases data. Verizon’s Ellipsis 7 guide documents a reset through Android settings, but does not confirm a hardware-button method for completing one when Android will not load.

If Android settings are accessible, use the documented reset route
- Open Apps > Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset.
- Review the warning and follow the on-screen prompts.
- Allow the tablet to restart; the guide says it will prompt you to set it up the next time it turns on.
This reset removes Google or other email account settings, system and application data and settings, and downloaded applications. Back up information you can still access before proceeding. The guide explains the reset’s data effects; it does not promise that a reset will repair a hardware fault.

If the tablet is frozen, try a power-cycle before an erase
A student-contributed iFixit Ellipsis 7 troubleshooting page suggests holding the power button for about 20 seconds, releasing it, then pressing power again to start the tablet. This is a troubleshooting suggestion for an unresponsive device, not a factory reset or a guaranteed repair.

A Verizon community reply also suggests holding power and volume together to force a reboot, and describes a power-plus-volume-down route to recovery. These are community-reported steps, not button combinations verified in the official guide. Timing or hardware revision may matter, so do not treat them as a universal sequence. The Verizon community discussion does not establish that these steps work on every Ellipsis 7.
If it will not power on or the screen stays dark
In a case-specific support exchange, Verizon suggested leaving the tablet connected to power longer, trying another charger or outlet, and holding power with volume down for about 10 seconds. These are suggestions from that exchange, not confirmation that any generic charger is compatible. See the Verizon power-on discussion.

The iFixit troubleshooting page lists a charger, charging port, or battery problem among possible reasons a device may not charge. Those possibilities do not diagnose your tablet. If charging checks do not help and an internal hardware fault seems likely, seek a repair assessment rather than attempting an unsupported repair.
If recovery displays “no command”
An Ellipsis 7 owner reported seeing “no command” during a factory-reset attempt in a Verizon support thread. The visible support exchange asks what steps were followed and when the message appeared; it does not provide a confirmed fix. The available evidence therefore does not establish one recovery-menu action that resolves “no command” on every Ellipsis 7.

When asking for device-specific help, provide the exact model identifier from the device label, the text shown on screen, whether Android starts, and the button sequence and timing already tried. Avoid applying generic Android or newer-device recovery instructions as if they were verified for this model. The same thread includes a request for a stock ROM, but does not provide or establish a safe official download; do not flash an unverified image.
