The advice below is for the 2025 game only. It does not apply to the separate 2004 Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, whose cheats and mechanics need their own guide.
First, make sure you have the right game
Bloodlines 2 is the 2025 installment starring Phyre and Fabien, with alternating player perspectives. Paradox lists it for Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Check the official game page before applying a guide or buying a copy: the original 2004 Bloodlines is a different game, with different controls, patches, and mechanics.

Are there cheat codes for Bloodlines 2?
No console-command cheat codes or command strings are established by the official material cited here. Paradox describes Custom Difficulty as allowing settings that are “effectively cheats,” but those are rules you select for a new run—not commands entered during play. Avoid treating an unverified code, trainer, or exploit as an official feature.

The developer describes stealth and surprise, direct combat, and narrative- and exploration-focused play as supported approaches. No one style is presented as the universally correct choice; consider how much you want to fight, how much risk you accept, and whether you prefer to explore or move quickly through confrontations.
#1 Best Overall
- Blood sustains you and empowers your vampiric Disciplines. You’ll stalk and feed on the city’s population at night. Use your supernatural powers or raw persuasion on unsuspecting mortals to lure them into dark alleys and slake your Hunger.
- Enter the World of Darkness and rise through vampire society or rail against it. Experience Seattle - a city full of alluring, dangerous characters and factions, not to mention the mortals at stake in the clash of powers beyond their knowing.
- Hunt your way through a modern-night Seattle on the brink of an open supernatural war in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, where visceral vampire action meets a neo-noir murder mystery. Navigate the vampire Court of Seattle and its dark underbelly in this action RPG, realized by the BAFTA award-winning studio The Chinese Room.
| Approach | What it emphasizes | Useful when |
|---|---|---|
| Stealth and setup | Concealment, distraction, feeding before a fight, and choosing a Discipline power before committing. | You want to control the opening of an encounter or avoid a direct exchange where possible. |
| Direct brawling | Close-range combat and melee weapons. | You want to engage rather than rely on concealment. Brujah are especially suited to this style, though the developer says any clan can brawl. |
| Narrative and exploration | More attention to dialogue and exploring the city, rather than making combat the center of every situation. | You want to spend more of the run on story and discovery. |
Stealth is an intended option, not a promise that every encounter can be cleared without a fight. The creative director describes distracting enemies, feeding before combat, and hit-and-run tactics as ways to approach danger. As Alex Skidmore, project creative director at The Chinese Room, put it: “Any Clan can brawl but this is where the Brujah shine.” Read the developer diary on clans and combat.
Use guard and evasion to survive melee fights
The Spring Update added guard and equipable melee weapons, including bats, knives, swords, hammers, and batons. Guard reduces melee damage while Phyre is not attacking or performing another combat action. It is a way to reduce incoming damage, not a reason to stand still when several enemies can surround you.

- Keep space to move. Avoid letting enemies box you in; the developer warns that being surrounded remains dangerous.
- Guard during an incoming melee strike. When you are not attacking or using a combat action, guard can reduce melee damage.
- Evade when you are surrounded. Paradox identifies evasion as the best defense in that situation; reposition before choosing your next attack.
The update also added 17 combat tutorial collectibles to the in-game codex, which teach advanced combat techniques. See the Spring Update details.

Firearms trade ammunition for damage and attention
Dual-wielding two of the same firearm increases damage per second, but uses ammunition faster. Use it when the higher damage is worth spending more rounds; it is a poor default if you need to conserve ammunition. Precision Aim slows time while targeting, making it useful when a deliberate shot matters.

Guns are loud, and aiming at passers-by can cause panic and draw unwanted police attention. Holster your weapon in public to keep a lower profile. The listed holster controls are Tab on keyboard, Y on Xbox, and Triangle on PlayStation DualSense. Read the Summer Update details.

Custom Difficulty unlocks after you complete the game on any difficulty as any clan and earn “An Elder Unchained.” Select it when starting a New Game; its settings cannot be changed partway through that playthrough. The available options cover elixir capacity, starting health, player and enemy damage, Masquerade sensitivity, ability recharge, enemy awareness, and progression and Iron Vamp rules.
Rank #4
| If you want… | Settings to consider |
|---|---|
| A more forgiving run | More elixirs, higher starting health, reduced enemy damage, passive ability recharge, or lower enemy awareness. |
| A tougher combat challenge | Tighter resources, harsher damage settings, or more alert enemies. |
| Less Masquerade pressure | Lower or disable Masquerade sensitivity. Paradox says disabling it allows free vampire-like action across the city. |
| A high-stakes run | Iron Vamp rules, if you want the challenge those progression rules provide. |
These are configurable challenge rules, not earned codes. Decide on them before the run begins, especially if you are changing several settings at once. See Paradox’s Custom Difficulty explanation.
