Vampire Crawlers takes the escalating builds of Vampire Survivors and makes them turn-based: instead of attacking automatically while you dodge enemies from a top-down view, you explore first-person dungeons and sequence cards to build increasingly powerful turns. The spin-off from poncle and Nosebleed Interactive launched on April 21, 2026, for PC and consoles.
What is Vampire Crawlers?
Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors is a single-player, card-driven roguelite and dungeon crawler published by poncle. It uses familiar characters, enemies, items, and weapon evolutions from Vampire Survivors, but changes both the viewpoint and the way combat works. Poncle’s official launch materials describe it as a turn-based game built around deckbuilding and dungeon exploration. The contrast with the original is practical: Vampire Survivors is top-down action survival, where you move through a map under continuous real-time pressure as attacks fire; Vampire Crawlers puts you in a first-person, multi-floor dungeon, where you choose and order cards. The familiar power fantasy remains, but you build it through decks and combos rather than by reacting to a live swarm.
How does combat and the combo system work?
Combat revolves around playing cards in ascending mana order. Each step in the sequence multiplies the effect of the next card, so the order you play cards can turn a modest hand into a much stronger attack or chain of effects. Wild cards can extend a sequence to 10, 20, 30 or more cards, while character cards and summoned Survivors contribute additional effects.

Poncle calls the system “TurboTurn”: you queue moves, then the game resolves them quickly. You can take time to plan a turn or play more rapidly; the tactical sequence does not require the slow, one-action-at-a-time pacing some players associate with turn-based combat. The key decision is how to assemble a useful chain from the cards available, then extend it when the deck and effects allow.
What happens in the dungeons?
Exploration is first-person and spans multiple floors. You move through rooms, find treasures, interact with points of interest, gain experience and cards, and collect power-ups and customization gems. Shovels can be used to reach the next floor. Poncle also describes functioning walls, making the dungeon layout part of navigation rather than just a backdrop for card battles.

As runs progress, you can pursue weapon evolutions and summon familiar Survivors whose effects combine with your cards and other abilities. That progression carries forward the source game’s escalating-build idea, but makes deck composition, mana order, and combo extension central to how power accumulates.

In its account of a typical level, Xbox Wire’s launch coverage describes five floors and says the layout is visible from the start. Treat those details as that account’s description of a typical level, not as a guarantee that every dungeon follows the same layout.

This is more than a new camera angle or a card layer over the original. It swaps continuous action for planned turns and open-map survival for dungeon navigation, while using chained effects to preserve the sense of a build growing out of control.
Release date, platforms, and access
Vampire Crawlers released on April 21, 2026. Official listings identify Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation. Xbox Wire specifies Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC, and says the game supports Xbox Play Anywhere and is available through Game Pass. Game Pass catalogs and platform availability can change, so check the relevant store for current access in your region.

The Steam listing displayed a price of $9.99 when checked for the October 13, 2026 information cutoff. Poncle’s FAQ cautions that console and regional prices may differ, and storefront prices can change. Confirm the current price on the store for your platform and region before buying.
Controller support, single-player, and cross-save
Poncle says controller support is included, but does not identify a required controller or endorse a particular model. The game is single-player on Steam, and PlayStation’s listing specifies one player. For a controller purchase, verify compatibility with the platform and version you plan to use.

Poncle’s launch FAQ said cross-save between platforms was not available at launch and that the developers were looking into it for mobile ports. That is a dated launch statement, not confirmation of the current cross-save status; check the latest official FAQ or platform information if carrying progress between devices matters to you.
What the launch figures say—and do not say
Poncle reported 358,000 demo downloads and 274,000 demo players during Steam Next Fest, and said the game had passed 420,000 wishlists. These are developer-reported promotional figures, not independently audited measures; they indicate interest around launch, but do not establish how the game performs or how players rate it.
Is there a physical edition?
The official announcements and platform listings cited here establish digital releases, but do not establish an official cartridge or disc edition, licensed merchandise, or a physical card product. Check poncle’s current announcements or the relevant platform store for any later product news.
