There is no single VALORANT graphics preset that guarantees the highest FPS or lowest input lag on every PC. Start by checking the game’s performance graphs and identifying whether your CPU or GPU is limiting performance; then change settings that target that limit and judge the result in real matches, not only in a quiet practice area.
Diagnose the problem before changing settings
First separate low client FPS from network delay. If FPS drops, the limiting factor may be the CPU or GPU. If FPS is steady but movement or hit registration feels delayed, graphics settings may not be the issue.

Riot’s performance guidance says lower-spec systems tend to be GPU-bound, while mid- to high-spec systems tend to be CPU-bound. When the CPU is the limit, reducing graphics quality may not improve FPS. Riot performance engineer Brian Fischer explained that graphics changes may not help when the CPU, rather than the GPU, is limiting frames. Riot’s Ask VALORANT performance explanation.
- Close other applications that are competing for system resources.
- Open VALORANT’s in-game performance graphs and watch them during play to identify CPU and GPU limits. Riot’s guide to the performance graphs explains the available measurements.
- Check performance in an actual match. FPS can fall in busy fights with more players and ability effects, and different modes can behave differently; a quiet practice area may not reflect match performance. Riot describes these fluctuations in its performance discussion.
Which graphics settings should you test?
If the GPU is the limiting factor, lower Material, Texture, Detail, and UI Quality as a first troubleshooting pass. Change a small group of settings at a time, then compare performance under similar match conditions. Riot recommends these settings as places to investigate, but does not promise a particular FPS gain or say every setting will matter on every PC.

- 【INTEGRATED SPEAKERS】Whether you're at work or in the midst of an intense gaming session, our built-in speakers provide rich and seamless audio, all while keeping your desk clutter-free.
- 【EASY ON THE EYES】 Protect your eyes and enhance your comfort with Blue-Light Shift technology. This feature reduces harmful blue light emissions from your screen, helping to alleviate eye strain during long hours of use and promoting healthier viewing habits.
- 【WIDEN YOUR PERSPECTIVE】Our sleek minimal bezel design ensures undivided attention. The nearly bezel-free display seamlessly connects in a dual monitor arrangement, delivering an unobstructed view that lets you focus on more at once, completely distraction-free.
If you are still investigating low FPS, try disabling Improve Clarity, Experimental Sharpening, Bloom, Distortion, and Cast Shadows. These are tests, not universal prescriptions: retain effects you prefer if they do not solve your performance problem.
When the CPU is the bottleneck, lowering visual quality may have little effect. Keep competing applications closed and use the graphs to confirm whether the limiting component changes; do not assume that a lower-quality preset will fix a CPU limit.

Reduce rendering latency without confusing it with ping
NVIDIA Reflex is intended to reduce and measure rendering latency. Its role is distinct from network ping, and Riot’s cited guidance does not establish one universally best Reflex menu choice or guarantee a specific reduction. See Riot’s gameplay consistency explanation for its discussion of rendering and other sources of delay.
Riot’s Patch 12.09 notes describe AMD Anti-Lag 2 support for certain GPU-bound situations, subject to compatible hardware and updated drivers. The patch note gives a driver date tied to that release, but a dated minimum can become obsolete; check Riot’s current Patch 12.09 compatibility details and current AMD requirements before relying on it.

Check network delay when FPS is stable
A stable FPS reading does not rule out network-related delay. Riot added in-game graphs for Network RTT jitter and Network RTT plus processing delays because average RTT or the displayed ping alone does not capture every relevant delay. Check those graphs when play feels delayed despite steady frames; Riot explains what they measure in its gameplay consistency update.
Riot’s 2022 explanation says Network RTT plus processing delays being roughly 20–30 ms above Network RTT can be reasonable when things are working well. It also cautions that the ideal varies with network and frame-rate conditions. Treat that figure as an approximate historical guideline, not a guaranteed target for every connection or a universal definition of good performance.

Raw Input Buffer and high-polling mice
Riot’s Patch 3.07 note from October 5, 2021, says Raw Input Buffer should provide a minor performance improvement with identical input latency for standard input devices and gaming mice. Riot also reported a major performance improvement for mice polling at 8000 Hz. That is a conditional performance note, not a reason for most players to buy a high-polling mouse. Read the original Patch 3.07 note.

A practical order for tuning
- Close competing applications and record the in-game performance graphs during a match.
- If the GPU is limiting FPS, test lower Material, Texture, Detail, and UI Quality, then evaluate again in comparable match conditions.
- If you are troubleshooting low FPS, test the listed visual effects one at a time or in small groups, keeping the changes that help without sacrificing visuals you value.
- If FPS stays steady but play feels delayed, inspect RTT jitter and processing-delay graphs rather than continuing to lower graphics quality.
- Use Reflex or Anti-Lag 2 only where applicable, and verify that your hardware, drivers, and current game version support the feature.
Riot’s 2022 article also describes a 128-updates-per-second server simulation rate. This is an explanation of server operation, not a setting a player can change to tune FPS or input lag.
