Choose v0 if you want a React/Next.js-oriented workflow, especially with an existing GitHub project or Vercel deployment. Choose Lovable if you want to begin with a prompt and use its advertised workflow for building an app’s interface, data, and logic, then integrate, host, and publish it. That guidance reflects the services’ published capabilities, not a controlled head-to-head test.
What can each builder make?
Both services describe building more than static screens. v0’s current FAQ covers full-stack web apps and gives examples such as dashboards, ecommerce, SaaS, AI-powered apps, and data visualizations. Lovable describes generating an app’s interface, database, and logic, with code editing, integrations, hosting, and publishing.

Those descriptions indicate broad web-app ambitions, but they do not establish that either tool will produce a working, production-ready app for a particular brief without developer review. Neither should be treated as a substitute for validating behavior, data handling, and deployment requirements.
How do their workflows differ?
v0: a framework- and repository-oriented path
v0 documents particular strength in Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and shadcn/ui. Its FAQ says you can import a GitHub repository. For the full environment-variable, preview, and deployment experience, v0 says the repository should be connected to a Vercel project. It also says generated code can be exported for deployment elsewhere.
#1 Best Overall
This makes v0 a natural fit when you already have a codebase or your team has chosen that stack. The framework emphasis is useful when it matches your project, but it is a constraint to weigh if your existing application uses a different framework or your team wants another development workflow.
Lovable: a prompt-led app-building path
Lovable presents a prompt-driven workflow that can extend from interface generation into data and app logic, code editing, integrations, hosting, and publishing. Its product page advertises connections for payments, email, databases, and other tools, with examples including Stripe, Google Maps, Resend, and Google Sheets.
Rank #2
That advertised breadth may suit a new web app when you want to start from a description rather than bring an established repository. Check whether the exact integration and configuration your app needs are available; named examples are not an exhaustive compatibility list or evidence that every setup is supported.

Backend, integrations, and deployment
v0’s full-stack documentation names Supabase, Blob, Neon, and Upstash among its database integrations. Lovable advertises a built-in backend and connections for services such as payments and email. The products’ descriptions do not prove parity between their integrations, so compare the specific database, authentication, payment, email, and API services you intend to use.
Rank #3
Deployment is another practical distinction. v0 documents a Vercel-centered deployment flow, while allowing code export for deployment elsewhere. Lovable describes hosting as included, but its pricing page warns that larger apps or substantial traffic may create costs beyond the included grant. Before committing, establish where the app will run, what setup or migration would be required, and whether the hosting model fits its expected traffic.
How should you compare price and credits?
There is no established like-for-like cost winner. v0’s FAQ lists Free, Premium, Plus, Business, and Enterprise plans. It lists Premium at $20 per month, Plus at $30 per user per month, and Business at $100 per user per month; the same FAQ says Premium is being sunset and is unavailable to new users. These are vendor-listed terms in a volatile snapshot, not a durable offer. Check v0’s current pricing for availability and terms.
Rank #4
Lovable’s pricing page describes a free plan with five daily build credits, up to 30 per month, 20 monthly Cloud credits, and four credits for trying AI features built into user apps. It says plans are priced by included credits rather than seats, and that substantial app size or traffic may entail additional hosting costs. Confirm the current details on Lovable’s pricing page.

These allowances measure different things, so do not compare their headline numbers as though they were interchangeable. Estimate how often you will build, what cloud or app-feature usage you expect, how many collaborators need access, and what hosting your finished app will require. Then compare eligible plans and any overage or infrastructure costs against that usage.
Best Value
Code ownership and portability
v0 describes GitHub integration and code export. Lovable’s pricing page says users own their code and output, subject to third-party rights in underlying models. Those statements are not a substitute for reviewing current terms, licenses, and infrastructure dependencies. For either service, inspect the generated code and determine what would be involved in maintaining or moving the app outside the builder’s preferred workflow.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose v0 when your app fits a React or Next.js workflow, you want to work with an existing GitHub repository, or you prefer the documented Vercel-centered project and deployment path.
- Choose Lovable when you want to start from a prompt and its advertised interface-to-backend, integration, hosting, and publishing workflow matches your needs.
- Compare both against your requirements when the choice depends on a particular integration, deployment destination, projected traffic, or expected credit use. Confirm the exact configuration and current plan terms before building around it.
What the published information does not establish
The official descriptions reviewed do not provide an independent, controlled comparison of app quality, speed, defects, or reliability. They also do not establish which service is more secure in practice: Lovable advertises security scanning, but that alone is not proof that a generated application is secure. Review generated code and test the finished app before relying on it.
This comparison concerns web apps. The available information does not establish whether either service is suitable for native mobile app packaging.
