Google’s baseline checks for extension installation problems are to update Chrome, verify that you are using a computer rather than a mobile device, and leave Incognito or Guest mode before installing. Chrome extensions cannot be installed on mobile devices, even if the browser is set to desktop mode. A work or school administrator may also block extension installation on a managed device. - Update Chrome. Install any available browser update, restart Chrome, and try the installation again.
- Use a regular desktop Chrome window. Do not try to install from a mobile device, Incognito window, or Guest session.
