UnderPeaks: One Data Model for Flutter, Next.js and a Backend

UnderPeaks’ creator says the tool generates Flutter and Next.js apps plus backend components from one data model. The launch post describes its options, but does not independently verify production readiness, security or performance.

UnderPeaks is presented by its creator as a way to define a data model once and generate a Flutter app, a Next.js app and backend components from it. The motivation, in the author’s account, was having to build both apps against the same backend and “keep both in sync by hand every time the schema changed.”

What UnderPeaks is meant to generate

In a September 24, 2026 launch post on DEV Community, the UnderPeaks author describes a workflow that starts with a model’s fields, types and relationships. UnderPeaks then generates app and backend components based on that model.

  • A Flutter mobile app
  • A Next.js web app
  • A REST API
  • An optional admin dashboard with KPIs and charts

The author describes the output as readable, “real” source code. That is a product claim, not independent evidence that generated code is production-ready or meets a particular project’s quality requirements.

Framework and state-management choices

The launch post lists several state-management options for each generated app:

Generated app State-management options named by UnderPeaks
Flutter Riverpod, Provider and BLoC
Next.js Zustand, React Query and Jotai

The post does not explain how these options affect generated architecture, how much customization they allow, or whether an existing application can be brought into the workflow.

Database adapters and hosting models

UnderPeaks lists five database adapters: Supabase, Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB and Firebase. The announcement also distinguishes two ways to use the product:

  • UnderPeaks Core: described by its author as free, open source and self-hosted.
  • UnderPeaks Studio: described as hosted.

Adapter support and hosting details here reflect the product announcement. It does not establish how portable generated projects are between databases, what happens during a database migration, or what Studio costs and includes.

What the announcement does not establish

The launch post explains the intended workflow, but it is not an independent product evaluation. It provides no test results or substantiation for code quality, security, performance, successful migrations, or user outcomes. Pricing details and feature limits for Studio are also not stated.

Before adopting a generator for a project, evaluate whether you can inspect and edit the generated code, how model changes propagate across the apps and API, what migration process it supports, and how hosting, security controls and pricing fit your requirements. Those are practical questions to verify; the launch announcement does not answer them.

Who may find the approach relevant

The described workflow is aimed at developers who need a Flutter client and a Next.js client to use the same data model, and want generated backend components rather than maintaining each layer independently. Its central promise is reducing repeated setup and coordination when a schema changes. Whether it actually saves time or suits a particular codebase depends on behavior the announcement does not independently verify.
