For the earliest in-story adventure first, put Golden Abyss ahead of the main Nathan Drake sequence:

Golden Abyss is a prequel to Drake’s Fortune; the placement is supported by a chronology guide. The other five games stay in the same relative order. You can follow the main console sequence without playing the Vita prequel.
Which order should a new player choose?
Choose release order for a first playthrough
Release order is the straightforward default: it presents the central Nathan Drake arc in the progression players first encountered it, then adds the prequel before the later adventures. It is an editorial recommendation, not a developer-mandated rule.

Choose chronological order for a replay
If you prefer to begin with the earliest depicted adventure, start with Golden Abyss. The practical difference between these lists is just that game’s position.
Which collections include the games?
Collections can simplify access to multiple entries, but neither collection covers all six story adventures.

The Lost Legacy follows Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross, rather than Nathan Drake, and belongs after A Thief’s End in this sequence. PlayStation describes their search for the Golden Tusk of Ganesh in India’s Western Ghats. Its pairing with A Thief’s End in Legacy of Thieves makes that collection a convenient way to play the final two adventures in the order shown above.
