UltaHost VPS can be worth considering for small, low-resource projects, such as a small website, a development or test server, or a hobby application, if you accept the limits of its entry plan and read its billing and refund terms before paying. It is a weaker fit for anything that needs substantial CPU, memory, or storage, or a service you cannot afford to have offline, because the strongest claims about uptime, speed, and support come from the provider itself and have not been independently measured.
This assessment is based on UltaHost’s published VPS page, FAQ, and refund policy as of October 2026. It does not include hands-on testing, server provisioning, independent uptime monitoring, or measurements of support response times. Prices, discounts, and plan contents change, so confirm the figures at checkout.

What the entry plan includes
The entry plan, listed as VPS Basic, provides one CPU core, 1 GB of DDR5 RAM, and 30 GB of NVMe SSD storage. Higher tiers on the same page add resources, as shown below. The table reflects the specifications and prices displayed on UltaHost’s official VPS page at the time of writing.
| Plan | CPU cores | RAM | NVMe storage | Price shown on the VPS page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| VPS Basic | 1 | 1 GB DDR5 | 30 GB | $5.52/mo, with $9.19 crossed out. The billing term behind this promotional figure is not stated on the plan card; confirm at checkout. |
| Second tier | 2 | 2 GB | 50 GB | Not stated in the VPS page content reviewed |
| Third tier | 3 | 4 GB | 75 GB | Not stated in the VPS page content reviewed |
| Fourth tier | 4 | 6 GB | 100 GB | Not stated in the VPS page content reviewed |
The VPS page’s hero section, comparison table, and plan cards do not show identical “starting at” figures. Quote the price on the specific plan card you are buying, along with its billing term, and treat the number as a promotion until the checkout total confirms it.

Pricing and billing terms
UltaHost offers monthly, yearly, two-year, and three-year billing, with discounts advertised for longer terms. The $5.52 figure should not be read as a month-to-month charge. Before ordering, check four things:
- Term length: the total you pay for the term you select, not the headline monthly equivalent.
- Renewal price: the rate after the first term. The VPS page content reviewed did not establish the renewal price for each plan.
- Panel costs: Hestia and CyberPanel are listed as free panel options, while cPanel and Plesk are listed as paid options.
- Taxes and fees: the checkout total is the figure that matters.
Managed service: what the levels mean
UltaHost uses “managed” as a label across its plans, but its FAQ separates three service levels, and they do not mean the same thing:
Unmanaged
You administer the server yourself. UltaHost’s FAQ describes this as self-administered service, which suits people comfortable with Linux or Windows server administration.
Rank #2
Semi-managed
Support troubleshoots and fixes issues that you submit to the support team. Routine tasks such as updates and monitoring are not described as handled for you at this level.
Fully managed
The FAQ describes fully managed service as available with a control panel, with UltaHost’s team handling updates, monitoring, and management. Confirm that your selected plan and panel qualify before assuming this scope.
The FAQ also states: “All VPS servers have FREE monthly management.” Read that sentence alongside the three service levels above. It describes an entitlement, not a promise that every administrative task will be performed for you. Linux and Windows options are both listed, and root access is advertised.

- HP MicroServer Gen10 Plus Tower Server for Business with Microsoft Windows Server 2019 OS!
- Intel Xeon E-2224 Quad-Core 3.4GHz 8MB CPU, Up To 4.6GHz Turbo
- 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 PC4-21300 2666MHz Unbuffered Memory
- 16TB (4 x 4TB) 7.2K 6Gb/s SATA 3.5" HDDs in RAID
- Hard drives and memory upgrades included separately NOT installed, installation required.
Uptime, backups, and security claims
UltaHost publishes a range of reliability and security features. Each is a provider statement, and none has been verified by independent measurement in the sources reviewed:
- 99.99% uptime guarantee. A vendor-published guarantee. The year it was set is not stated on the live product page, and the terms of any remedy should be checked in writing before you rely on it.
- Snapshots and backups. Free real-time snapshots, a free weekly backup, and user-created full backups are listed. Retention periods, restore procedures, and restore success rates are not stated.
- DDoS protection and malware detection. Both are listed as included. How they perform under attack or in a real infection is not established.
- Monitoring and support. Round-the-clock monitoring and support are advertised. Response times are not published, and this review did not measure them.
- Speed and routing. NVMe storage and global routing performance are claimed. No throughput, latency, or regional measurements were available to confirm them.
No independent benchmark or third-party uptime dataset was found for UltaHost VPS. Treat the guarantee as a contract term to read, not as evidence of how the service has actually performed.
Refund policy and its exclusions
UltaHost’s refund policy, revised in 2025, says customers can cancel VPS hosting within the first 30 days for a full refund. The exclusions are significant, and they can apply to the plan you would most likely buy:
Recommended Free Tools
Rank #4
- Yearly, biennial, and triennial VPS plans are not refundable.
- The 30-day offer applies only to the first package purchased on an account less than 30 days old.
- Specially discounted or promotional plans are non-refundable.
- A refund request must be made before the account is closed.
- Data loss may follow suspension or termination, so export your data before a dispute escalates.
The general promotion on the VPS page and these detailed exclusions can appear to conflict. If you are buying a discounted plan on a longer term, assume the refund window may not apply and confirm the exact terms in the checkout flow.
Outbound email and Port 25
If the server will send email, check the port rule first. UltaHost’s FAQ says Port 25 is restricted on entry-level plans unless the billing-cycle total reaches $117. The same FAQ says VDS servers have Port 25 open by default. Confirm whether that default applies to the plan you choose, and verify the current threshold before you rely on outbound mail.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is it a good fit for your workload?
UltaHost lists website and application hosting, development and testing, multiple sites, and game servers among its VPS use cases. The entry plan’s resources suit small or light projects. They are not a substitute for workload testing. Match the plan to your actual load:
Best Value
| Use case | Entry plan (1 core, 1 GB RAM, 30 GB) | What to verify before buying |
|---|---|---|
| Personal or test site | Plausible starting point | Memory headroom under your real software stack |
| Development and testing | Plausible for light builds and single-user work | Build times and disk space under your own project |
| Multiple or busy websites | Likely to need an upgrade | Traffic peaks and memory use measured under load |
| Game servers | Depends on the game and player count | Game-specific requirements and any port or latency needs |
| Business-critical production | Not established by the provider’s material | Independent uptime history, restore testing, and support response |
How to decide
- Write down your workload’s peak memory, CPU use, and storage needs. Compare them with the entry plan’s 1 GB RAM and 30 GB storage.
- Choose the service level. If you cannot administer a server yourself, confirm in writing that fully managed service is included on the plan and panel you select.
- Open checkout and record the total for each billing term, including the renewal rate and any panel fee.
- Read the refund exclusions that apply to your term and promotion, and note the cancellation steps.
- If you need outbound email, confirm the Port 25 rule for your plan and billing total.
- Before moving production data, run a trial workload on the plan and restore a backup to confirm that the backup process works.
If your answers point toward a small project on a short term with a clear exit path, UltaHost’s entry plan is a reasonable low-cost option to test. If they point toward a long-term commitment with production stakes, the uncertainty around independently verified performance and the refund exclusions weigh heavily against it.
Disclosure of affiliate terms
UltaHost runs its own affiliate program, which its page says pays up to 60% on eligible initial hosting purchases. Its FAQ says renewals and upgrades are not commissionable. These are the provider’s published terms and may change. They do not affect the assessment above.
