U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs reportedly took in a net $119 million on October 6, 2026, while Ether ETFs moved in the opposite direction. The Bitcoin total, attributed to SoSoValue by two secondary reports, came despite outflows from some funds; BlackRock’s IBIT alone reportedly gained $122 million. A related report put Ether ETF outflows at $201.9 million for the same session.

What the October 6 Bitcoin ETF figure means

The reported $119 million is the net flow for the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF category on October 6, 2026—not the amount invested in any one fund. Tokenpost and KuCoin, both attributing their figures to SoSoValue, reported that inflows and outflows across funds combined to a positive daily total. Their reports were published October 7. Tokenpost report surfaced in Pluang’s feed; KuCoin report.

That distinction explains how IBIT could attract more than the category’s net inflow: withdrawals from other funds reduced the amount left over after all reported fund flows were combined.

Reported fund-level flows

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF October 6 reported flow
BlackRock IBIT $122 million inflow, as reported by Tokenpost and KuCoin, citing SoSoValue
Morgan Stanley MSBT $7.84 million inflow, as reported by Tokenpost and KuCoin, citing SoSoValue
Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust (ticker BTC) $10.97 million outflow, as reported by Tokenpost and KuCoin, citing SoSoValue

These named funds do not account for the category total by themselves. The reports give selected fund figures, not a complete fund-by-fund reconciliation, so the remaining flows should not be inferred from this short list.

Bitcoin and Ether flows diverged

A related-news excerpt published by Pluang on October 7 reported that U.S. Ether ETFs lost $201.9 million on October 6, described as their largest outflow in three weeks. It also reported $407.8 million in withdrawals across six consecutive sessions beginning September 29. The excerpt does not provide a fund-by-fund breakdown, and the underlying report was not available for independent checking. Pluang’s related-news feed.

The available reports therefore show contrasting reported flows for the two U.S. spot ETF categories on that date. They do not establish why investors moved money differently, nor do one-day fund flows demonstrate what Bitcoin or Ether prices will do next.

Reported size of the Bitcoin ETF category

Tokenpost and KuCoin also reported that Bitcoin spot ETFs had $110.677 billion in net assets and $57.817 billion in cumulative net inflows as of October 6, 2026, citing SoSoValue. These are reported category figures, not values independently reconciled here against issuer filings. They describe the category at that point in time and should not be read as daily flow totals.
