Independent hands-on testing found generally even cooking, with some usability caveats; it did not establish a controlled performance advantage over competing fryers.
What kind of air fryer is the Typhur Dome 2 AF03?
The AF03 pairs a broad, low cooking area with a 5.6-quart capacity. Typhur lists a 139.5-square-inch cooking area and a basket height of 2.3 inches. That shape favors pizza, wings, steaks and other foods that benefit from being laid out rather than stacked. The trade-off is limited vertical room: Typhur says the design is not intended for a whole chicken or taller foods.

The footprint is substantial for a countertop appliance: 19.7 × 15.6 × 10.3 inches, at 20 pounds. Measure the space where it will sit, including room to pull out the drawer. Capacity alone does not convey how much counter space this wide format occupies. Typhur’s product page and its support specifications list these dimensions and capacity.
The AF03 is the Classic Silver + Black version. Typhur lists AF05 in Graphite Gray and says the two share core cooking performance, while AF05 adds app-based fan-speed control in Air Fry mode. That particular control is not listed for AF03.

Does the dual heating make a difference?
Typhur’s central design feature is a pair of heating elements, above and below the food. The company says the dual elements and airflow reduce the need to flip or shake food, and claims cooking time can be reduced by up to 30%. That percentage is a manufacturer claim, not an independently verified head-to-head result, so it should not be read as a guaranteed time saving in every recipe.
Ideal Home’s April 12, 2025 hands-on review reported even cooking across chicken, chips, fish and bacon. Chips browned and crisped evenly but needed a few extra minutes beyond the reviewer’s initial setting. Fish cooked in 15 minutes without turning, and bacon was reported to cook evenly without turning. The reviewer turned steak and extended its cooking time to reach the preferred doneness.

These observations are useful examples, not standardized comparative testing. The available review text does not clearly identify the tested unit’s finish or model code, so its results should not be treated as a controlled AF03-specific lab test. Ideal Home’s review is positive overall about cooking and versatility, but it does not establish that the Dome 2 outperforms other air fryers by a measured margin.
Will it cook a 12-inch pizza well?
The wide, shallow basket and a dedicated Pizza mode make pizza a genuine use case: Typhur says a pizza up to 12 inches fits. Its product messaging describes the heating system as pizza-oven-inspired and highlights the lower element for browning the crust. However, the maximum cooking temperature is 450°F, and the appliance remains an air fryer rather than a dedicated high-temperature pizza oven.

Ideal Home confirmed the 12-inch capacity and described its pizza testing setup, but the available review text does not provide a detailed verdict on the finished crust. Typhur’s own educational article also cautions that the appliance cannot reach the very high temperatures used for Neapolitan pizza. It is reasonable to value the pizza fit and mode for convenience; there is not enough evidence here to promise restaurant-style results. What do the controls and app add?
The physical appliance provides Air Fry, Toast, Grill, Reheat, Pizza, Bacon, Steak and Wings modes. Typhur lists Bake, Broil, Dehydrate, Griddle, Fries, Roast and Frozen in the app. This split means some presets depend on using a phone, rather than selecting every listed mode directly on the appliance.

Ideal Home found app setup and pairing straightforward and reported that the app allowed remote adjustment and stopping, as well as access to recipes. Starting a cook still required pressing the physical button at the appliance. The reviewer also found that the display needed a firm press to respond and noted there is no viewing window; checking food means opening the drawer, after which cooking resumes automatically when it is returned.
Typhur describes an app workflow that pairs the Dome 2 with its wireless meat thermometer for target-temperature monitoring and stopping at the target. Treat that as an optional accessory path, not an included feature; confirm AF03 compatibility and current app support before buying on that basis. For most buyers, app control is a convenience rather than a reason by itself to choose this model.

How difficult is it to clean?
Typhur lists a self-cleaning mode and describes the basket as aluminum alloy with a PFAS-free ceramic nonstick coating. In Ideal Home’s review, the drawer and grill were easy to wipe or wash, and the reviewer said those parts were dishwasher safe. The reviewer also reported that a two-hour self-clean cycle removed visible greasy residue from the top element, though the cycle produced an odor.
Those are reviewer observations, not a substitute for the current manual’s instructions. Follow the manual for cleaning, dishwasher use and safety precautions, particularly for the appliance cavity and heating elements.

Is the Typhur Dome 2 AF03 worth buying?
It is a plausible fit if you want a countertop cooker for broad, relatively low foods, value the option to cook a 12-inch pizza, and expect to use its presets, connected features or self-clean mode. The review evidence supports generally even results in several everyday foods, but not a quantified advantage over other fryers.
Look elsewhere if counter width is tight, you regularly cook tall items or whole poultry, or you want effortless visual checks through a window. Compare its footprint and local price with other large-format models rather than choosing by quart capacity alone. At the time Typhur’s US product page was accessed on October 7, 2026, it showed $299.95 with $399.99 struck through, plus an 18-month warranty and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
