The Ntorq 125’s SmartXonnect features use Bluetooth to connect the scooter’s instrument cluster to the TVS Connect app on your phone. Navigation guidance is based on the phone’s GPS and maps; the cluster is not shown by TVS as a standalone GPS navigator. If Bluetooth or directions are unreliable, check that your scooter has SmartXonnect and work through the phone, app, and pairing checks before assuming the scooter needs repair.
How Bluetooth and navigation work on the Ntorq 125
SmartXonnect links a compatible Ntorq instrument cluster with the TVS Connect app over Bluetooth. For navigation, the phone supplies GPS and map information, and the cluster displays turn-by-turn guidance. That means a Bluetooth connection problem and a navigation or location-permission problem can look similar, but they are not necessarily the same fault. Before troubleshooting, confirm your scooter has SmartXonnect
Check the exact model year, variant, and market for your Ntorq 125. TVS describes SmartXonnect across Ntorq variants in its materials, but the launch announcement and general connection instructions do not confirm feature availability for every current trim or market. If you are unsure, check the owner information for your scooter or ask a TVS dealer to verify its equipment.

Pair the phone and scooter for the first time
- Switch on the scooter and keep your phone close to it.
- Turn on Bluetooth on the phone and open the TVS Connect app.
- Use the app’s Connect function to search for the instrument cluster, then select the cluster it finds and follow the prompts shown by the app or scooter.
- When pairing finishes, check that the app reports a connection. Do not rely on a universal pairing PIN; the available TVS instructions do not establish one for every phone and model.
TVS’s Android and iPhone connection guide describes initiating the connection in TVS Connect while the vehicle is on and the phone is nearby.

If the scooter pairs but does not reconnect reliably
Automatic reconnection depends on a successful earlier pairing, the scooter being on and nearby, and the phone’s Bluetooth being enabled. Keep TVS Connect permitted to run in the background. TVS’s Ntorq owner manual specifically notes that on iPhone the app should remain open or in the background. It also calls out Android battery optimization, background app operation, battery saver, and high-accuracy background GPS as possible factors.
- Temporarily turn off battery saver to see whether the connection becomes stable.
- On Android, check the phone’s app settings for TVS Connect battery optimization and background activity or location access. Menu names differ by Android version; the manual’s Android instructions refer to versions above 8.0 and may not match current menus exactly.
- On iPhone, leave TVS Connect open or running in the background and check that Bluetooth and location access are available to the app.
The owner manual says automatic pairing can take up to five minutes, so allow that time before concluding that a reconnect attempt has failed.

If Bluetooth connects but navigation does not appear
Check the phone-side navigation path rather than treating this automatically as a Bluetooth failure:
- Confirm that location permission is enabled for TVS Connect and that the phone’s location service is on.
- Set up a route in the app or map workflow you are using, then check whether turn-by-turn guidance is active on the phone.
- Keep the app available in the background during the ride, and check whether battery-saving settings are restricting location or app activity.
TVS describes navigation as phone-based GPS and map guidance displayed on the cluster; it does not establish a universal menu sequence for every app or phone version. App behavior and labels may change.

When to ask TVS service for help
If the cluster remains undiscoverable or repeatedly disconnects after you have checked Bluetooth, app permissions, background operation, and power-saving restrictions, contact a TVS authorized service center for model-specific inspection. The symptom alone cannot identify whether the cause is the phone, app, settings, variant, or scooter hardware, and TVS’s published instructions do not establish a specific cluster defect or repair procedure.
