If you want TMR thumbsticks, wireless play across several Switch generations, and a lower listed price, choose the Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch 2. If you want Nintendo’s first-party feature mix—including a headset jack, rumble, NFC, and console wake from sleep—choose the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller. The right pick depends on which features matter to you, not on one controller being best for every player.
This comparison is about the wireless Rematch. Turtle Beach also sells a distinct wired Rematch, with different thumbsticks and a 3.5mm audio jack; it is not the same controller at a lower wireless price.

Which should you buy?
Choose the Rematch Wireless if stick technology and compatibility come first
Turtle Beach advertises TMR thumbsticks on this model. TechRadar notes that Nintendo’s Switch 2 Pro Controller does not use TMR or Hall-Effect sticks, but that distinction alone does not prove either controller is drift-proof or predict how an individual unit will perform over time.
#1 Best Overall
- HD Rumble 2
- Motion controls
- Built-in amiibo functionality*
- Capture Button
- C Button for GameChat**
The Rematch Wireless is also the more flexible choice if you use more than one generation of Nintendo’s Switch hardware: Turtle Beach lists it for Switch 2, Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED. Its C Button, mappable rear buttons, wireless play, and available designs may also suit players who want those options. The lower price in TechRadar’s February 2026 comparison adds to its value case, though current prices can change.
Choose the Switch 2 Pro Controller if you want Nintendo’s feature set
Nintendo confirms the controller’s headset jack, C Button, and mappable GL/GR buttons. TechRadar’s comparison additionally reports rumble, NFC, and the ability to wake Switch 2 from sleep—features it says the Rematch Wireless lacks. If those functions are part of your routine, the Nintendo controller is the more complete fit.
Rank #2
- This controller also works with Nintendo Switch 2 - C Button not available
- Eight RGB zones with four pre-set modes for dynamic lighting combinations
- Two programmable quick-action back buttons for customizable gameplay
- Built-in motion controls for immersive gameplay
- Ergonomic design for extended comfort
TechRadar’s reviewer tested the Rematch over multiple weeks, including on Switch 2, original Switch, and retro titles, and compared it with other wireless controllers. Its impressions of comfort and build are reviewer judgments rather than manufacturer specifications; personal fit can vary.
Do not confuse the wireless Rematch with the wired model
Turtle Beach’s separate Rematch Wired Controller has Hall-Effect thumbsticks, a 10-foot cable, and a 3.5mm headset jack. Its product page listed a full price of $29.99 when accessed in 2026. That price and those features apply to the wired variant—not the wireless controller compared above. Consider it if you specifically want a wired pad and headphone connection, and verify its current price before purchasing.

Compatibility note: the older Switch Pro Controller is a different model
Nintendo says the Switch 2 Pro Controller is only for Switch 2. Separately, Nintendo’s compatibility information says the older Nintendo Switch Pro Controller can connect wirelessly to Switch 2. Do not treat the older controller’s compatibility as evidence that the newer Switch 2 Pro works with the original Switch. Nintendo Switch 2 compatibility information
