Yes. Road to VR reports that Duuro Plays created a WebXR preview that runs in the Quest 3 browser and lets you switch between Quest 3’s view and a mask approximating Meta VR Glasses’ narrower field of view. It can help you judge the size of the viewing window, but it is not an optical replica and cannot predict how the glasses will fit or look to you.
What the preview shows—and what it cannot
The reported preview is a field-of-view comparison: it switches between Quest 3’s full view and a reduced view intended to represent Meta VR Glasses. Road to VR describes it as a way to get a good idea of the difference, not a faithful reproduction of the glasses’ optics. Its report links to the app, but its current availability and exact behavior have not been independently confirmed.

A view mask can illustrate how much of the scene falls outside a narrower viewing window. It does not recreate image quality, lens behavior, comfort, passthrough, or the effect of the glasses’ physical fit. Meta says fit, eye position, and gaze can all affect how much of the nominal viewing area a person sees.
How much narrower is the view?
Meta’s 2026 developer documentation gives Meta VR Glasses a nominal straight-ahead field of view of 70° horizontally by 66° vertically. Meta describes those figures as an upper bound: a wearer’s fit, eye position, and gaze may make the visible area smaller. The same documentation lists a 74° by 68° per-eye render extent, which describes the rendered area—not a guarantee that the wearer sees all of it. Meta’s field-of-view simulation documentation also lists 2412 × 2288 pixels per eye.

For comparison, Road to VR reports Quest 3 at 110° horizontal by 96° vertical, versus Meta VR Glasses at 70° by 66°. Those Quest 3 comparison figures are Road to VR’s reporting; Meta’s cited developer page establishes the glasses’ nominal figures, not the Quest 3 figures. The numbers give a useful sense of the difference, but they should not be read as a promise of the exact view any individual will experience.
Try the consumer-facing WebXR preview
- Open the Duuro Plays preview linked in Road to VR’s report using Quest 3’s native browser.
- Switch between the Quest 3 view and the Meta VR Glasses view mask to compare how much of the scene remains visible.
- Pay particular attention to the edges of the view. Treat the result as an illustration of the narrower window, not a personal fitting or optics test.
The report says the preview runs in Quest 3’s native browser. It does not establish that the preview works on other devices, and no developer-mode setup is identified as necessary for visiting it.

Meta’s separate developer simulation
Meta also documents a first-party field-of-view simulation workflow for developers. It is a device-level testing tool, not the same consumer-facing WebXR preview. Meta lists Quest 3S, Quest 3, and Quest Pro as supported devices, and says the headset must be in developer mode. The simulation can help developers spot content that may be clipped or difficult to see; Meta says it does not replace validation on the final physical device.
Recommended Free Tools
- Connect a developer-mode Quest 3S, Quest 3, or Quest Pro and use Meta VR CLI.
- To simulate the nominal target, run
metavr device fov-sim enable. - To use Meta’s optional reduced “perceived” target of 58° horizontal by 54° vertical, run
metavr device fov-sim enable --perceived. - Restarting the headset clears the temporary override. Consult Meta’s field-of-view simulation guide and simulation testing guide for the documented workflow and testing guidance.
The 58° by 54° value is an optional simulation target, not Meta’s nominal field-of-view specification. Developers working in Unity also have engine-specific simulation options described in Meta’s documentation.

Which preview should you use?
- If you want a quick visual comparison: try the reported WebXR preview in Quest 3’s browser, if it is available.
- If you are developing or testing content: Meta’s CLI simulation offers a nominal target and a reduced perceived target on supported, developer-mode headsets.
- If you are deciding whether the real glasses will suit you: neither simulation can establish your personal fit or exact visible area. The nominal field is an upper bound, and physical-device validation remains the meaningful check.
Road to VR’s October 5, 2026 report also gives an expected Spring 2027 arrival and a $1,300 price. Treat those as time-sensitive reported launch details, not a confirmed current retail offer.
