To trim a video on a Samsung Galaxy, open it in Gallery, tap Edit (the pencil), choose Trim (the scissors), adjust the start and end handles, preview the cut if playback controls are available, then tap Save. Samsung’s labels and available features can vary by model and software version.
How do I trim a video on my Samsung Galaxy?

Open Gallery and select the video you want to shorten.

Drag the trim handles or slider bars to set the beginning and end of the portion to keep. The selected range determines the clip’s new duration.

Use the play control to preview the result if it is available, then tap Save.

Manual Trim or Studio Auto Trim?
Manual Trim gives you direct control over the clip’s start and end in the video’s Edit screen. Studio Auto Trim is a separate assisted workflow: it analyzes footage and suggests a version with portions such as pauses or blank stretches removed. Treat the suggestion as a draft to preview, not a guaranteed ideal cut.

Samsung’s Auto Trim instructions are available in its Gallery AI editing guide and Galaxy A27 Auto Trim support page. Menu wording and availability can vary.
Why might the Trim or Studio option be missing?
Samsung says Video Editor screens and features can vary by software version and Galaxy model. One Samsung Saudi support article identifies Video Editor availability on Galaxy S20 models and later, but that is not a complete compatibility list for every Gallery feature, region, or software release. If a control is absent, check the Gallery interface on your device and Samsung’s support information for your exact model rather than assuming every Galaxy has the same tools.

Can I trim 4K or 8K video in Gallery?
Samsung documents trimming 8K footage with Gallery’s Edit slider on supported Galaxy phones. Its guidance also says 4K or 8K videos can be saved only to the phone’s internal memory in the recording scenario described on that page. That storage note is specific to Samsung’s stated 4K/8K context, not a general rule for all Galaxy videos or every way of saving edits. See Samsung’s 8K video guidance.
