The iPad Air 11-inch (M4) Wi-Fi + Cellular, model A3460, supports mobile data through eSIM, not a physical SIM card. Apple lists Magic Keyboard model A3339 as compatible with this iPad. The combination makes sense if you need cellular connectivity and want a keyboard with a trackpad, but Apple’s specifications alone do not establish its real-world typing comfort, durability, or overall value.
What the A3460 configuration includes
Apple identifies A3460 as an 11-inch iPad Air (M4) Wi-Fi + Cellular configuration. It is the cellular model, not the Wi-Fi-only version. Its cellular hardware uses Apple’s C1X modem and supports 5G sub-6 GHz and Gigabit LTE, each with 4×4 MIMO, according to Apple’s technical specifications.

Those network capabilities do not guarantee service on every carrier or in every country. Apple lists supported cellular bands for the regional models covered by its specification; check the exact model and your carrier’s compatibility information before relying on coverage, especially when buying for use in a different market.
Does the cellular iPad Air use a physical SIM?
No. Apple says the Wi-Fi + Cellular model uses eSIM and does not support physical SIM cards. Before buying, confirm that your carrier supports eSIM activation for this iPad and the plan you intend to use. The tablet’s cellular capability also means a separate carrier plan may be needed; the device specifications do not establish a plan’s price or availability.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How long does the battery last on mobile data?
Apple estimates up to 9 hours of web browsing over a mobile data network. Apple says this estimate is based on testing conducted in January and February 2026 using preproduction 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air (M4) units. It is a manufacturer estimate under its test conditions, not an independent review result or a guarantee of the runtime you will get. Actual use can differ.
Does Magic Keyboard A3339 fit the iPad Air M4?
Yes. Apple lists the 11-inch Magic Keyboard as compatible with the iPad Air 11-inch (M4), and identifies the accessory as model A3339. Apple’s Korean support page gives a March 2025 introduction for A3339. The cited compatibility information specifies iPadOS 18.3 or later; check Apple’s current listing for the applicable software requirement before setup.

What Apple lists on the keyboard
- A trackpad with a glass surface.
- A 14-key function row.
- A USB-C connector for pass-through charging.
- Front and back protection for the iPad.
- 1 mm key travel.
These are listed features, not evidence of independent testing for typing comfort, trackpad responsiveness, long-term durability, or how well the case protects the iPad in a drop.
Is the cellular model worth choosing?
The main reason to choose A3460 over a Wi-Fi-only iPad Air is the ability to connect through a supported mobile-data plan when Wi-Fi is unavailable. That can be useful if you regularly work or travel away from trusted Wi-Fi. In return, you need an eSIM-compatible carrier and may have the ongoing cost of a data plan. If you expect to use Wi-Fi almost everywhere, the cellular capability may not justify that added service commitment.

Whether the full setup is worth its cost depends on the current prices of the iPad, keyboard, and cellular plan in your market. The available product specifications do not provide a like-for-like price comparison or independent performance and value testing, so they cannot establish that this configuration is a better buy than another iPad size, a Wi-Fi model, or a separate keyboard case.

Who this combination suits
- Consider it if you need mobile data on the iPad itself, your carrier supports its eSIM, and you want a keyboard with a trackpad and pass-through charging.
- Look at a Wi-Fi model instead if you generally have Wi-Fi access and would rather avoid arranging a cellular plan.
- Compare keyboard options in person if typing feel, long-session comfort, or protection is decisive; Apple’s feature list does not answer those questions.
