Trend Micro ScamCheck is a mobile app and subscription for assessing suspicious messages, links, phone numbers, and other content, with additional filtering and alerts that Trend Micro says can help protect users across communication channels. Its advertised capabilities are not proof of detection accuracy: the available product information does not establish an independent accuracy rate or comparative performance.
What Trend Micro ScamCheck says it does
Trend Micro describes ScamCheck as a way to check potentially suspicious content and help users respond to possible scams. Its US product page lists analysis of URLs, phone numbers, emails, screenshots, and advertisements. The company also advertises spam-text filtering, scam-call alerts, protection from risky websites, and alerts for possible face-swapping during video calls. These are vendor-described features, not independently verified results. Trend Micro US product page

Trend Micro’s FAQ gives examples of questions a user might investigate: “Is this text message real?”, “Is this phone number legitimate?”, “Is this Facebook ad true?”, and “Is this website a fake?” It says users can submit an image or screenshot, text or email, URL, or phone number for analysis. Treat an assessment as an aid to judgment, not a guarantee that content is safe or fraudulent. Trend Micro UK product page and FAQ

Trend Micro’s Canada page presents Individual and Family options and says the Family offering can cover up to six people. A May 27, 2026 company announcement describes Family Circle as extending ScamCheck protection across connected family members. The announcement also describes Scam Intent AI as intended to identify and alert users to manipulative behavior early; it does not provide independent outcome measurements. Check the current offer in your local store before subscribing. The product page reviewed advertises a 30-day trial for the Individual plan in its presented market, but trial availability, pricing, included features, renewal terms, and Family entitlements can vary by region and may change. Do not assume the Canadian plan description or trial applies elsewhere.
Supported devices and languages
Requirements differ across regional pages. Trend Micro’s UK FAQ lists Android 15.0 or later, iOS 17.0 or later, and iPadOS 17.0 or later, with English, Japanese, Mandarin, German, and French listed as supported languages. The US shop says users need a compatible Android or iOS device, the latest ScamCheck app, and an active internet connection. Confirm your local store listing and current app-version requirements before purchasing. Trend Micro UK product page and FAQ · Trend Micro US product page
What Trend Micro says about privacy
Trend Micro states that it does not store content submitted to or scanned by ScamCheck. That is the company’s stated position; the product pages reviewed do not provide an independent audit or a complete account of all data that may be associated with accounts, devices, diagnostics, or other service operations. For a purchase decision, review the current local product information, the vendor’s current privacy policy, and the disclosures in the app store for your region.

What the available evidence does not establish
The reviewed product material describes advertised features, but it does not establish ScamCheck’s detection accuracy, false-positive rate, or performance against alternatives through independent testing. Trend Micro’s US shop reports that its solutions block 6 billion unwanted messages and 157 million threat URLs each month and protect more than 250 million users. Those are undated, company-reported figures for Trend Micro solutions generally—not ScamCheck-specific outcomes—and the page does not provide a methodology for them. They should not be read as evidence of ScamCheck’s individual detection performance. Trend Micro US product page
A June 25, 2026 Trend Micro newsroom announcement quotes Frank Kuo, Chief Consumer Business Officer of TrendLife, saying: “Scams have evolved into multi-step, emotionally manipulative attacks that can move across texts, calls, websites, video, and messaging apps before a person realizes they are in danger.” This is company commentary about the threat landscape, not an independent evaluation of ScamCheck.
