To complete the opening Transport Fever 3 campaign mission, Saving Mardi Gras, work through five tasks in order: find five alligators, repair the washed-out road, deliver six wood to the hotel site, extend the bus line to Lakeshore and run the parade from City Park along Canal Street. The active objective panel in your save takes priority if its wording or sequence differs.
What Campaign 1 asks you to do
Saving Mardi Gras is set in New Orleans after a major storm threatens the city’s preparations for its festival. The broad mission goal is to clean up storm damage and help the city so Mardi Gras can go ahead. The official Transport Fever 3 manual identifies Mayor Beau LaFontaine and Orphanage Director Katie Baker in the mission’s story.

Complete the mission in this order
1. Find the five alligators at the logging camp
Search around the logging camp until all five are found; the guide says lumber production will not resume until this task is done. It describes approximate search areas near the gate and street, trees, a shack, logs and the camp itself. These are landmarks to check, not exact map coordinates. Completing the alligator task quickly also addresses the mission’s optional alligator medal.

2. Repair the washed-out road
Remove the fallen trees and rebuild the missing road section to restore the connection. The guide recommends repairing the break rather than redesigning nearby streets, which keeps the task focused on reconnecting the existing route.
3. Deliver six wood to the French Quarter hotel site
- Build the Road Depot when the mission prompts you to do so.
- Buy a wagon that can carry wood at the depot.
- Set up the cargo route from the logging camp to the French Quarter hotel construction site.
- Run the service until six wood have been delivered to the site.
The depot is where you buy the wagon; it is not the cargo line’s starting point. The guide identifies the logging camp and hotel construction site as the route endpoints.

4. Extend the New Orleans bus line to Lakeshore
Add a Lakeshore stop to the existing New Orleans bus line. A stop by itself is not enough: the guide says passengers must actually travel for the objective to register, so let the service operate and check the objective panel for completion.

Create the requested parade line from City Park along Canal Street, then assign the parade vehicles waiting in the depot beside the French Quarter Hotel. Follow the line instructions shown in your mission; exact waypoints are not established here.

Stars, the medal and what completion means
The manual separates the main mission goal, additional star tiers and an optional bonus medal. For Saving Mardi Gras, it names the tiers “Save Mardi Gras,” “Help New Orleans a little more” and “Help New Orleans a lot more,” plus the medal “Subdue the alligators, fast.” The manual page does not publish numerical thresholds for the tiers, so there is no supported score target to quote.
The October 3 walkthrough reports that its listed tasks can earn three stars without building a large free-play network. That is the guide author’s report, not an independently verified guarantee; it gives neither a reproducible numeric threshold nor timing. If you want the medal or extra stars, check their conditions separately from simply finishing the main objective.

Campaign context and resuming your save
Transport Fever 3’s campaign contains eight missions, and its opening portion introduces core mechanics. Missions unlock in sequence. According to the manual, you can resume a mission save from that mission’s individual page.
