Which edition should you buy?
Buy Standard if you mainly want the story
Standard gets you the base game. Digital Deluxe is not described as adding another story campaign; its added value is the Season Pass content. If you are unsure whether you want the outfits and attachments, start with Standard and consider only the individual DLC you later decide to buy.

The bundle is worth considering when you already know you want the Season Pass items and its local price compares favorably with the specific DLC you would otherwise purchase. The publisher says consumables are not part of the pass, and the content can also be bought individually. Prices and bundles vary by platform and region.

Choose Switch 2 Edition for the stated technical improvements
The Switch 2 edition’s listed benefits are resolution, frame rate, and load times—not additional in-game content. If you own the Switch version, the publisher offers a paid Upgrade Pack to play the Switch 2 edition. The pack alone does not include the game, so it is not a standalone purchase for someone without a playable copy.
Choose Bracer Edition for the objects, not because it is a better game edition
Its appeal is the physical collection of items listed above. The publisher’s page includes a 2025 delivery window, which does not confirm stock or price in October 2026. Check current retailer or storefront availability before deciding.

Platform, format, and language details to check
- Platform: Official listings cover PS5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam, but not every edition or format is available on every platform.
- Physical or digital: The publisher lists physical Standard copies for Switch and PS5, and digital Standard copies for Switch, PS5, and Steam. TechRadar’s format roundup lists Switch as physical and digital, and Switch 2 and PC as digital; confirm a regional SKU if a disc or cartridge matters to you.
- Language: The publisher lists English, French, German, and Spanish text with English and Japanese voices for Switch and PS5. Its Steam specifications also list Japanese text, alongside English and Japanese voices. Check the product page for the platform you intend to use.
- Storage: Nintendo’s US page lists 9.7 GB for both Switch and Switch 2; verify the live listing in your region in case requirements change.

The game is a remake of the first Trails installment, following Estelle and Joshua. The official Nintendo description does not state a prior-game requirement, and GamesRadar describes it as a starting point while noting that it is the first chapter in an interconnected series. If you want to test the pacing or combat before paying, PlayStation lists a free demo. GamesRadar estimates that the demo takes 5–7 hours; that is an editorial estimate, not an official completion-time guarantee.
