For a detachable tablet-and-laptop, consider the Microsoft Surface Pro 11; for long tested web-surfing endurance, the Dell 14S; for a large-screen all-rounder, the ASUS Zenbook S 16; for productivity, the Lenovo ThinkPad X9 15 Aura Edition (2025); and for a lightweight ARM-based option, the ASUS Zenbook A14 (2026). These picks come from separate publications and tests—not a shared head-to-head comparison—so match the configuration and workload to your needs before buying.
How to choose among these Windows 11 laptops
Start with your form factor and workload, not a headline ranking. A detachable tablet, a thin productivity laptop and a larger all-rounder solve different problems. Then check the exact processor, memory, storage and display configuration: laptop families can have multiple versions, and a review recommendation or measurement applies to the configuration that publication tested unless it says otherwise.

The battery figures below are useful clues, not a controlled comparison. The publications used different methods and workloads, so do not assume that one model will last longer than another in your day-to-day use. Also confirm regional stock, the precise SKU, current price and warranty before purchase; availability and battery life can vary by market, configuration, settings and usage.

Top Windows 11 laptop picks for 2026
Microsoft Surface Pro 11: best fit for a detachable 2-in-1
Windows Central names the Surface Pro 11 its overall pick. It combines a 13-inch, 3:2 touchscreen—available as OLED or LCD—with Snapdragon X processor options, two USB4 ports, and soldered memory options of 16GB or 32GB. Storage is available up to 1TB. That mix suits someone who wants a tablet-style device that can also serve as a laptop, but the detachable design makes the keyboard and pen part of the buying decision. Confirm that any required accessories are compatible and included; Microsoft says pen accessories may be sold separately.
#1 Best Overall
- 1.1 GHz (boost up to 2.4GHz) Intel Celeron N5030 Quad-Core
Dell 14S: a strong option for endurance-focused buyers
Tom’s Guide reports 20 hours and 41 minutes for the Dell 14S in its 2026 continuous web-surfing test. Its tested configuration has a 14-inch OLED touchscreen and handles multitasking, according to the publication. Tom’s Guide also notes that it is not as powerful as the XPS 14 or XPS 16 and may not suit every budget. Treat the runtime as that outlet’s result under its test conditions, not a promise for mixed everyday use.
ASUS Zenbook S 16: a large-screen all-rounder
TechRadar’s overall pick is the Zenbook S 16. The family offers a 16-inch display, up to a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, up to 32GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. TechRadar measured 14 hours and 55 minutes in its 2026 battery test. Those are family-level maximum specifications, not a guarantee that every configuration includes the top processor, memory or storage; verify the exact SKU before comparing prices or expecting the reviewed performance.
Rank #2
- 256 GB SSD of storage.
- Multitasking is easy with 16GB of RAM
- Equipped with a blazing fast Core i5 2.00 GHz processor.
Lenovo ThinkPad X9 15 Aura Edition (2025): productivity-first choice
RTINGS names the ThinkPad X9 15 Aura Edition its best tested Windows productivity laptop. It highlights a 2.8K, 120Hz OLED display, a comfortable keyboard, a large haptic touchpad and a 1440p webcam with Windows Hello. RTINGS estimates around 15 hours of light-use battery life. Its Intel Lunar Lake system is aimed at productivity, not intensive AAA gaming or 3D rendering. RTINGS also cautions that OLED flicker may bother some people.

Consider this an independent testing perspective with older pick verification, rather than a current 2026 retest.
Rank #3

ASUS Zenbook A14 (2026): portable ARM-based option
Windows Central’s hands-on review describes the Zenbook A14 as a portability and CPU-heavy-work option, praising its Snapdragon X2 Elite performance and Wi-Fi 7. The reviewer says the OLED display could be brighter and advises buyers who rely on older printers or scanners to check driver compatibility.
Its battery figures come from three distinct sources and methods: Windows Central measured 23 hours and 38 minutes in PCMark 10’s local-video battery test; ASUS claims more than 33 hours under a controlled 1080p video-playback scenario; and the reviewer separately reported a Windows Battery Report estimate of 17 hours after a week of use. These figures are not interchangeable: the first is a review test, the second a manufacturer claim under specified conditions, and the third a use-based estimate.

Battery results are not a head-to-head ranking
Different workloads can produce very different battery results. Tom’s Guide used continuous web surfing for its Dell 14S figure; TechRadar reports a battery-test result for the Zenbook S 16; RTINGS gives a light-use estimate for the ThinkPad; and Windows Central’s 23-hour-38-minute Zenbook A14 result came from a local-video test in PCMark 10. ASUS’s separate A14 figure is a controlled playback claim, not the same test as the review measurement.

Check software, accessories and Windows edition before buying
Confirm ARM compatibility where it matters
The Snapdragon-based Surface Pro 11 and Zenbook A14 are ARM-based options. Before choosing one, check that business-critical applications work as expected and that essential peripherals have suitable drivers. RTINGS notes that some applications may not run natively or may perform poorly through emulation; Windows Central specifically flags older printers and scanners for the A14. If a peripheral or application is essential to your work, verify it before relying on the laptop.
Verify the complete configuration and included items
- Compare the exact processor, RAM, storage and display—not just the model-family name.
- For the Surface Pro 11, check keyboard and pen compatibility and whether the accessories you need are included.
- For any model, confirm the SKU, regional availability, current price and warranty with the seller.
- For everyday personal use, Tom’s Guide says Windows 11 Home is sufficient for most buyers. It describes Windows 11 Pro as mainly relevant to people who need additional security, management or business features.
Which one should you buy?
Choose the Surface Pro 11 if you specifically want a detachable tablet-and-laptop format and are prepared to check accessory requirements. Consider the Dell 14S if long web-surfing endurance is a priority and its performance and price suit you. The Zenbook S 16 is the large-screen choice in this group; the ThinkPad X9 15 Aura Edition is the productivity-focused option, with the caveat that RTINGS’ picks were verified in 2025. The Zenbook A14 is worth considering for portability and ARM-based performance, provided its applications and peripherals meet your needs.
