There is no verified universal first unit for every map, wave, or loadout.
How to choose your first upgrade
Toilet Tower Defense is a Roblox wave-defense game in which players place units to fight invading toilets; the official Roblox listing also describes Endless Mode. The right upgrade depends on the threat you need to handle now.

- Identify the problem. Is a high-health enemy surviving, a group overwhelming the lane, or an enemy slipping through because a unit cannot reach or control it?
- Inspect the next level. Check its in-game upgrade panel, or consult a current stat table. Look at the cost and changes to the stats that matter for that problem; rarity and appearance do not tell you whether the upgrade is useful.
- Compare the gain with the cost. Upgrade if the level adds relevant damage, range, attack cadence, or control at a cost you can afford. If it does not address the current leak, save your currency for a better-targeted purchase.
- Reassess when the threat changes. A choice that helps against one wave may not be the right answer to a later group, boss, or control problem. Compare the units you own and can afford, including how their roles fit together.
This is a practical decision method based on wave-based play and unit-specific upgrade data, not a tested build or a developer-published universal rule.
What to compare before spending
- Threat match: Does the upgrade address the enemy or lane that is causing trouble?
- Relevant improvement: What changes in damage, cooldown, range, control, or another listed capability?
- Cost and remaining currency: Is the gain worth paying for now, or would saving make a more useful option possible?
- Loadout fit: Does this unit complement the rest of your placed units, or duplicate a role you already cover?
The available unit data does not establish a verified efficiency ranking across the roster. Avoid treating any supposed damage-per-cost calculation or generic tier list as a universal upgrade order.

Example: Boss Toilet’s upgrades
The community-maintained Boss Toilet unit page lists four levels. Its figures illustrate how costs and capabilities can change together; they are not a comparison with other units. The page’s balance data may become outdated, so check the in-game panel before relying on exact values.
| Boss Toilet level | Upgrade cost shown | Cumulative cost | Damage | Cooldown | Range | Stun blocks |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $1,000 | $1,000 | 1,500 | 0.5 | 30 | 0 |
| 2 | $5,000 | $6,000 | 7,500 | 0.5 | 40 | 2 |
| 3 | $20,000 | $26,000 | 15,000 | 0.2 | 45 | 4 |
| 4 | $35,000 | $61,000 | 24,000 | 0.2 | 60 | 6 |
These listed costs total $61,000 through level 4, and the community page describes the later levels as expensive. The example shows why “upgrade the highest rarity first” is incomplete advice: what matters is whether the specific capability gained is worth the currency for your current situation.

The Roblox listing establishes the experience and its broad gameplay, but does not explain which unit to upgrade first. The detailed costs and stats cited here come from community-maintained wiki material rather than developer documentation. Since unit balance can change, treat the table as a specific published example—not a guarantee of current values—and verify upgrade costs and effects in the unit panel before spending.
