“Timmy Tim” refers to Timothée Chalamet’s amateur high-school rap persona, usually called “Lil Timmy Tim” in retrospectives. The videos and performances came from his years at New York’s Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts; they document school-era performance work, not a professional rap career at the time.
Who was Lil Timmy Tim?
Lil Timmy Tim was the rap alias Chalamet used in performances while he was a student at LaGuardia High School. The name has resurfaced as his acting profile grew and old clips circulated online. Netflix Tudum’s retrospective describes several school performances and videos associated with the persona: Netflix Tudum’s account of Chalamet’s rap videos.

Which Timmy Tim videos are people referring to?
“Statistics”
“Statistics” is among the best-known clips. TheWrap describes it as a rap for Chalamet’s math teacher; Tudum says the performance roasted a teacher who had given him a D on an exam. The clip is a school-era performance, not a released professional single. TheWrap revisited it in 2020 after a later comedy sketch brought the old video back to viewers: TheWrap’s report on the “Statistics” video and its SNL callback.
LaGuardia’s Rising Stars showcase
Tudum identifies performances at LaGuardia’s annual Rising Stars student showcase, including a Timmy Tim performance in 2012. These were part of the school-performance context, rather than evidence of a commercial release.

“Hell’s Kitchen Bed”
“Hell’s Kitchen Bed” is another work Tudum names among Chalamet’s school-era rap material. The retrospective also distinguishes the rap videos from an earlier 2008 clip of Chalamet dancing to Soulja Boy; that dance video is not itself a Timmy Tim rap performance.
How does the Saturday Night Live sketch fit in?
In 2020, Chalamet and Pete Davidson played exaggerated rappers in a Saturday Night Live sketch. TheWrap noted that the sketch reminded fans of Chalamet’s old “Statistics” video. It was a later comedic callback, not one of the original LaGuardia performances.

What about “4 Raws Remix” with EsDeeKid?
A separate chapter came in December 2025, when Chalamet appeared with rapper EsDeeKid on “4 Raws Remix.” LOS40 reported on December 20 that the remix had been released the previous day and that Chalamet’s verse playfully invoked the Lil Timmy Tim alias: LOS40’s report on the EsDeeKid collaboration.

The connection is the reference to the old alias, not continuity with a professional recording career during his student years.
