To track time on Trello cards, add a time-tracking Power-Up or connect a supported service. Trello’s directory lists Tick, Time in List, TimeCamp, Timeneye, TMetric, and Toggl. They do not all measure the same thing: Time in List reports how long a card stays in a list, while a time tracker is intended to record work time. Choose according to whether you need labor-time logs, workflow-duration data, reports, or budget tracking.
What Trello time tracking can measure
Trello’s integration directory offers software integrations for adding time-related features to boards; the documented workflow does not require dedicated timer hardware. Before choosing, distinguish two questions:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- How much work time was spent? Look for a tracker that logs time against cards, whether through a timer, manual entry, or both.
- How long did the card spend in a workflow stage? A list-duration tool can answer this, but elapsed time in a list is not a record of active labor.
The directory’s brief listings identify relevant options but do not establish each provider’s current feature depth, pricing, plan restrictions, or data-handling terms. Confirm those details with the provider before adopting a tool.

Trello time-tracking Power-Ups to consider
| Power-Up or service | What Trello’s directory says | Best fit to investigate |
|---|---|---|
| Tick | “Track your time and hit your budgets.” | Teams interested in time tracking alongside budget monitoring. |
| Time in List | Shows how long cards have been in their current and past lists. | Teams measuring workflow duration rather than active labor time. |
| TimeCamp | Listed as tracking time directly within Trello. | Users who want to investigate a time tracker integrated with Trello. |
| Timeneye | Presented as an easy time-tracking option for Trello. | Users comparing a Trello-focused time-tracking option. |
| TMetric | Listed with customizable reports and time control on cards and board activity. | Teams looking for reporting and card- or board-level time controls. |
| Toggl | Listed as an official Toggl timer for tracking time within Trello. | Users who want to investigate timer-based tracking with Trello. |
These descriptions come from Trello’s Power-Ups directory and are not a full feature comparison. Listings can change, and the descriptions alone do not prove which integration is best for a particular team.

How to choose the right option
Start with the report or decision you need to make, then verify that the service supports the necessary workflow. Compare providers on:
- How time is recorded: Check whether you can start and stop a timer, enter time manually, or use both methods.
- Where reports group time: Confirm whether reports can be organized by card, member, project, or another dimension you need.
- Budgets and billable work: If you track project budgets or billable hours, verify that the provider supports those use cases.
- Exports and mobile use: Check whether you can export records and whether the mobile workflow suits the way your team works.
- Access and data handling: Review permissions and the provider’s data-handling information before connecting it to a board.
- Cost and plan limits: Confirm current pricing, what is included in any free plan, and whether the features your team needs require a paid plan.
Trello’s directory is useful for finding candidates, not for settling these comparisons. Its short descriptions do not provide a complete account of provider plans, reports, privacy terms, or current prices.

How to add a time-tracking Power-Up
- Open the Trello board where you want to track time.
- Open the board’s Power-Ups menu and select Add Power-Ups.
- Search for the Power-Up you want to try, such as Tick, Time in List, TimeCamp, Timeneye, TMetric, or Toggl.
- Select Add, then follow the instructions shown for that Power-Up to finish setup.
Trello says a board can have any number of Power-Ups, regardless of plan. However, a Power-Up may have a service cost set by its third-party developer. See Trello’s instructions for adding Power-Ups and its Power-Ups overview for the documented flow and cost context. Check the provider’s own information for current charges and plan limits.

After setup, test the integration on a small number of cards. Confirm that time is attached to the expected work, that teammates can use it with the intended permissions, and that the resulting report answers your actual question. For example, a report of time spent on work and a report of how long cards sit in a queue describe different things; do not treat one as a substitute for the other.

If the integration does not appear in the board’s Power-Ups search, check Trello’s current directory and the provider’s setup guidance. Directory availability and third-party features may change. Trello’s Power-Ups developer reference describes the Power-Up framework, but it does not replace the service provider’s current documentation for a particular integration.
