Its manual sets an important limit: the standard seat is for children at least six months old who can sit unaided; newborn use requires the Sleek Bassinet or a compatible infant car-seat adapter. Anyone considering a used Sleek should also check its item number, manufacture date and QC2020 sticker against the 2020 recall criteria before use.
What the original Thule Sleek offers
Thule positions the Sleek as a city pushchair with a reversible seat, three recline positions, an adjustable footwell and handlebar, and a zip-top cargo basket. Its listed wheel setup is 11-inch foam-filled rear tires and 8-inch front wheels that swivel or can be locked. Thule also lists four-wheel suspension, removable wheels and a compact fold with or without the seat mounted. These are manufacturer-stated features, not independent findings about ride quality or maneuverability. Thule’s UK product listing also specifies a UPF 50+ canopy and a large seating area.

Size and weight depend on the listing
For the original Sleek model shown on Thule’s UK page as item 11000013, the listed weight is 13.8 kg, doorway pass-through width is 60.5 cm, and folded dimensions are 83 × 60.5 × 42 cm. The same page lists a maximum child weight of 22 kg. Treat these as specifications for that displayed model and regional listing, not universal measurements for every Sleek configuration or market; check the label and product documentation for the exact unit you are buying.
A 60.5 cm pass-through figure can help you assess door access, while the folded dimensions help estimate storage needs. Measure your own doorway and storage space, allowing for the configuration you intend to use.

Can the Thule Sleek be used from birth?
Not with the standard seat alone. The original Sleek manual says the seat is intended for children from six months who can sit unaided, up to 22 kg. For use from birth, Thule specifies the Sleek Bassinet. Thule also describes a separately sold infant car-seat adapter as a newborn configuration, but the adapter and car-seat combination must be verified for the exact products involved; do not assume universal car-seat compatibility. The original Sleek manual gives the age and attachment guidance.
Is the Thule Sleek a double stroller?
The original Sleek can be expanded from a single-child setup using a Sleek Sibling Seat, and Thule presents it as configurable for siblings or twins. Whether a particular two-child arrangement suits your children depends on using the intended attachments and following their instructions. The chassis manual limits compatible attachments to the Sleek main seat, Sleek Sibling Seat, Sleek Bassinet and Sleek Car Seat Adapters. In the manual’s words: “IMPORTANT – Thule Sleek chassis is only compatible with Thule Sleek main seat, Thule Sleek Sibling Seat, Thule Sleek Bassinet and Thule Sleek Car Seat Adapters.”

Which accessories fit the original Sleek?
Thule’s original Sleek accessory catalog includes a sibling seat, bassinet, car-seat adapters, rider board, cup holder, snack tray, seat liners, footmuff and travel bag. Choose accessories for a specific need—for example, the bassinet for the manufacturer-described birth setup or sibling seat to expand the stroller—and verify generation and exact fit before purchasing. The Thule Stroller Travel Bag manual states that the bag is compatible only with Thule Sleek.

Was the Thule Sleek recalled?
Yes. Thule and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a recall notice on August 12, 2020, because the handlebar could detach and pose an injury hazard. The CPSC notice covered original Sleek item numbers 11000001–11000005, 11000017, 11000330 and 11000337–342, manufactured from May 2018 through September 2019, without a QC2020 sticker. The CPSC reported about 4,000 units in the United States and about 880 in Canada; at the time of the notice it had received one report of a handlebar detaching and no injury reports. Those figures describe the notice as of 2020; they do not establish whether later incidents occurred or prove that an unlisted stroller is risk-free. How to screen a used stroller
- Find the product label on the lower inside frame. Check the item number and the YY/MM manufacture date code.
- Compare the item number and date with the recall criteria above, then check whether a QC2020 sticker is present next to the product label.
- If the stroller matches the recalled criteria and lacks the sticker, stop using it and contact Thule about returning it for a free replacement frame, as directed in the CPSC notice.
- If the label, date code or sticker cannot be verified, or you are unsure how the criteria apply, contact Thule before using the stroller.
