Neither figure is an independently measured usable capacity, nor does it establish how much food can be spread out in a single layer. For buyers, that distinction matters: a nominal litre or kilogram figure does not by itself show whether a particular batch will fit or cook evenly.

Consider the size and shape of the food you normally cook, not just the stated capacity. A small drawer can be convenient for a compact kitchen or modest portions, but the public information here does not establish batch size for chips, vegetables or other foods. The Breville Australia product page gives the manufacturer’s capacity claim; CHOICE supplies the small-basket description.

Breville lists seven presets: Custom, Chips, Frozen, Veggies, Fish, Roast and Dehydrate. It specifies temperature settings up to 200°C, 1500 W power, an LED display, dial and button controls, auto-off, and shake/turn alerts. The frying rack and cooking pan are described as ceramic-coated and non-stick, respectively, and a heat-resistant silicone mat is included. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent findings about cooking results or durability.

CHOICE describes the pan/bowl material as ceramic. That description and Breville’s coating specifications do not establish the detailed cleaning burden, longevity or food-release performance.
Does the cooking cavity have a PFAS-free coating?
Breville describes the cooking cavity as PFAS-free and qualifies that claim with: “No PFAS substances were intentionally added during the manufacturing process.” That wording is the manufacturer’s statement about its manufacturing process; it is not an independent test result or a broader assurance about every component. How much counter space does it need?
Breville lists dimensions of 32.6 × 25.7 × 28.1 cm in width × depth × height order. CHOICE lists 28 × 26 × 35 cm in height × width × depth order. The figures use different dimension orders and appear to involve rounding or different measurement conventions, so they should not be compared as if each number referred to the same side. Check the appliance’s orientation and allow practical clearance around it when assessing a counter or storage space.
How it differs from the larger Air Fryer Chef
The Air Fryer Chef Compact is the LAF535 family. Breville’s older, larger Air Fryer Chef is a separate LAF500 family, with a manufacturer-claimed 5 L / 3 kg basket and 11 presets. The Air Fryer Chef Plus is another distinct model, LAF600. Similar names do not mean the appliances have the same capacity or functions. The capacity and preset counts above are manufacturer claims, not comparable independent performance results. Breville’s product page identifies the Compact’s listed features.

The public information cited here does not confirm current part-by-part stock or definitive warranty terms for every buyer, so check the support options and applicable terms for your region and purchase date before relying on a particular repair or replacement part.
