What is included in the HOTAS WARTHOG MKII?
Thrustmaster describes the MKII as a bundle pairing a 1:1-scale replica of the VIPER flight stick with an A-10C Warthog throttle. The throttle controls two engines independently, and its levers can be attached together or separated. The manufacturer describes the replicas as licensed by the U.S. Air Force.

This is therefore a stick-and-dual-throttle setup, rather than a standalone joystick. The combination is most relevant to players whose flight-simulation aircraft and control preferences suit a VIPER-style stick and A-10C-style throttle; check the controls and aircraft supported by your games before choosing it.
What changed in the redesigned base?
Thrustmaster says the MKII base has an optimized metal structure, anti-stiction ball bearings and a redesigned mechanism intended to improve smoothness and durability. It uses H.E.A.R.T. (HallEffect AccuRate Technology) magnetic sensors, for which Thrustmaster specifies 16-bit resolution and claims precision over time. These are manufacturer descriptions, not independent measurements of the unit’s performance.

The base’s 6-pin connector supports all generations of Thrustmaster grips. Thrustmaster says the base electronics can manage up to 128 buttons and 8 axes simultaneously. Those figures describe the manufacturer’s stated capacity; confirm that a particular grip and your intended game or configuration meet your needs.
How do you mount and configure it?
Desk or cockpit setup
Thrustmaster says the base can be mounted directly in a cockpit. For desk or table use, it names the AVA PLATE support plate, sold separately. The manufacturer lists the bundle dimensions as 320 × 260 × 440 mm and its weight as 6,560 g, so account for its size and mass when planning a desk setup. The product page does not establish that the plate is included.

PC software and drivers
Thrustmaster’s T.A.R.G.E.T. software for PC can test, configure and program its controllers, as well as create or load profiles; the company says it is free to download. For Warthog drivers and firmware, use the official Warthog support page to identify the current package for your setup. Support resources include a 2026 driver package reference, but the live support page is the appropriate place to check for current files.

How much does it cost, and is it available?
Windows Central reported a September 16, 2026 release and these launch-period prices: $599.99 in the United States, £449.99 in the United Kingdom and €549.99 in Europe. The review also reported Amazon availability in the US and UK. Those are dated launch-context figures, not a current price or stock check; verify the local listing, seller and availability before buying. Include the cost of any separately sold support plate in your setup budget.

Is the Warthog HOTAS a good fit?
It may suit sim fans seeking a matched stick-and-dual-throttle bundle with Thrustmaster grip compatibility, cockpit mounting options and configurable PC software. The decision turns on whether the VIPER stick and A-10C throttle fit the aircraft you fly, whether your existing or planned Thrustmaster grips are compatible, and whether the physical setup and current regional price work for you. The cited specifications alone do not establish how it feels in use or how it compares in measured performance with other controls.
