What the Xteink lineup offers
Xteink’s official site currently presents three models: the 3.7-inch X3 and two 4.3-inch X4 readers. The X3 is the smallest listed option. The X4 Classic and X4 Pro share a larger screen but differ in controls and lighting.

These are Xteink’s own listings, not a live price comparison with a Kindle. The X3 product page showed sold-out status in one result while the official homepage included it in the lineup, so check the current product page for stock and price before buying. The Atlantic also reported the X3 at $69 on Amazon in September 2026; that dated price is not a promise of today’s Amazon price. How the X3 compares with the X4 models
X3: prioritize minimum size and weight
Xteink lists the X3 at 58 g and 5.1 mm thick, with a 3.7-inch, 259-PPI screen. Its compact dimensions and low listed weight make it the most pocketable model in the lineup, but the screen is smaller than either X4’s, and it has no front light. The product page lists TXT, EPUB, MOBI, PDF, and PNG support. The X4 Classic has a 4.3-inch display and physical buttons, with no front light. It is listed at about 68 g and from $79 on Xteink’s site. Choose it over the X3 if the larger display matters more than the smallest possible form factor and you prefer button navigation.
X4 Pro: add touch and integrated lighting
The X4 Pro also has a 4.3-inch display, but adds touchscreen controls and a front light. Its listed weight is about 72 g and its price starts at $99 on Xteink’s site. The integrated light is the clearest practical reason to choose it over the X4 Classic, rather than treating the small difference in listed price as the only distinction.

Do not assume that support for ebook file formats includes access to Amazon’s Kindle Store. The X3 product page lists local formats including EPUB and MOBI, but that is not evidence of Kindle app access, Kindle Store browsing, or compatibility with every Kindle-purchased book. Tom’s Guide reported from its July 6, 2026 first-person account that the X4 does not offer on-device browsing of Amazon’s Kindle Store. If your reading depends on buying books directly from Amazon and opening them through Kindle’s ecosystem, an Xteink reader should not be treated as a straightforward Kindle replacement. If you have compatible local files and want a particularly small screen, the X3 may suit a different, narrower role. Check the file and transfer requirements for the books you actually plan to read before choosing.

Price alone also misses the central tradeoff. Xteink’s X3 is substantially smaller than the typical purpose of a full-size e-reader, while the X4 models offer a larger screen and, in the Pro, built-in lighting and touch. - Consider the X3 if a very small, light reader is the priority and your books are available as compatible local files.
