The manufacturer describes it as electrically non-conductive and non-hardening, and recommends it for high-performance PCs, overclocking, large heat-sink surfaces such as custom water-cooling systems, and industrial use. Available performance evidence does not establish a precise temperature advantage or a clear ranking against competing pastes.
What is different about Hydronaut Pro?
Hydronaut Pro’s defining feature is its silicone-free carrier. Thermal Grizzly says silicone oils can bleed under thermal stress and may be undesirable around certain incompatible materials or EPDM/NBR seals. Thermal cycling and small movements can also contribute to paste displacement. The company qualifies that concern: “In normal PC use, this is generally uncritical.” That makes silicone-free composition a specialized materials or application consideration, not a reason to assume ordinary thermal paste is unsafe in a typical PC.

Thermal Grizzly lists Hydronaut Pro as electrically non-conductive, non-hardening over time, and RoHS compliant. Its product page prints an electrical conductivity field of 0 pS/m; this is the manufacturer’s stated unit and should not be confused with a thermal conductivity rating. Thermal Grizzly says Hydronaut Pro has increased thermal conductivity compared with non-Pro Hydronaut, but acknowledges that the temperature differences in its lab comparison appear marginal at first glance. The company’s method compares the temperature difference between a 30 × 30 mm heat source and cooler under 240 W heat flow and 300 N (48 PSI) contact force; within that specific setup, a lower delta K indicates better transfer. Thermal Grizzly says this controlled delta comparison is more informative than a W/(m × K) figure. Its launch article states, “The lower the value, the better the thermal conductivity.” The numerical graph values were not available in the accessible page text, so no exact temperature gain or ranking can be substantiated. What an independent review establishes
Tech4Gamers’ October 1, 2026 review by Usman Sheikh describes a short test using an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X at a stated 200 W heat load. It reports two 20-minute Cinebench R23 runs with a 10-minute cool-down at 25 °C ambient, and presents qualitative conclusions. The extracted review text does not include actual result values. Its brief test is useful context, but it does not establish long-term durability or prove a lasting performance advantage. Tech4Gamers review.
Who should consider it?
- Consider it if silicone-free composition is important for the materials, seals, or application in your system, or if you are working with a large-surface heat sink or an industrial setup where the manufacturer specifically recommends it.
- For a conventional PC build, the manufacturer says pump-out and silicone-oil concerns are generally uncritical in normal use. The available evidence does not show that Hydronaut Pro will deliver a reliably measurable advantage over other pastes in every system.
- If long-term stability is your main priority, Thermal Grizzly positions Duronaut Pro as its long-term-stability-oriented formula and Hydronaut Pro as the silicone-free option. Those are manufacturer descriptions, not independent comparative proof.
How does it compare with regular Hydronaut?
The meaningful comparison is not a specification-sheet number alone. Thermal Grizzly claims increased thermal conductivity over regular Hydronaut, but the accessible comparison does not provide numerical graph results. To choose between them—or another paste—look at whether silicone-free composition is actually needed, comparable temperature measurements, evidence for stability across your expected time and thermal cycling, package size and price per gram, and how easily the paste can be applied. Without accessible comparable test outcomes, there is no sound basis here to declare a universal performance winner.

- PRECISE APPLICATION - The practical syringe allows for easy application of this thermal paste, delivering it exactly where it needs to be. Ideal for CPU and cooling, GPU, LEDs, and heat sink fins
- PERFECT HEAT CONDUCTION - Provides awless heat transfer without integration into the processor.
- VERSATILE COMPATIBILITY - Compatible not only with computers or laptops but also with PS 3, 4, 5, Xbox 360, One, and Series X consoles! Perfectly dissipates heat from MacBooks
- LONG-LASTING STABILITY - Hydronaut thermal paste does not harden and oers high long-term stability. It does not require a hardener, contains no silicone, and is non-conductive
Verdict: a targeted choice, not a proven universal upgrade
Hydronaut Pro makes the clearest case for itself when silicone-free composition is a real requirement. Its stated electrical and material characteristics and the included spatulas are useful product details, but the available test evidence does not establish an exact temperature gain, a broad benchmark win, or long-term endurance. If you do not need the silicone-free formulation, compare pastes using results from a setup and time span relevant to your system rather than assuming the Pro name guarantees better temperatures.
