The 2022 “Next-Gen Update” is an earlier version milestone, not the right baseline for a new PC compatibility check.
Can my PC run The Witcher 3 Remastered?
Compare your system with the official minimums below. These describe the entry-level configuration, not a guarantee of a particular frame rate at every resolution or in every scene.

These are CD PROJEKT RED’s current published minimums. The company says Windows 10 will no longer be officially supported or tested, and HDDs are no longer supported. An SSD is therefore a requirement, not merely a recommendation; check your PC’s available drive interface, form factor and capacity before upgrading.
What performance should you expect?
Meeting the minimum tells you whether your hardware aligns with the listed entry-level configuration; it does not tell you what frame rate to expect at your preferred resolution or settings. The official requirements page also lists Recommended, Ultra, RT Minimum, RT Recommended and Path Tracing tiers. CD PROJEKT RED says the FPS targets in its table are based on QA tests and can fluctuate with the scene and system configuration. It also warns that output resolution significantly affects frame rate.

The detailed tier table is presented as an image on the official requirements page. Its higher-tier component and FPS values are not reproduced here, so do not use the minimum list as a substitute for Recommended, Ultra or ray-tracing hardware guidance. Check the official table for the complete configuration that matches your target.
Ray tracing, upscaling and Frame Generation
Ray-tracing tiers are not directly comparable with standard rendering at the same nominal resolution unless their rendering assumptions are considered. CD PROJEKT RED’s RT tiers use upscaling set to Auto; its Path Tracing measurement also enables Frame Generation. Those techniques affect the reported targets, so treat them as part of the configuration rather than as a universal estimate for native-resolution play.

Remastered adds native DirectX 12 rendering with multithreading, Path Tracing, DLSS 4.5 with Ray Reconstruction, FSR 4, XeSS 2.0 and Ray-Traced HairWorks. The release notes specify FSR 4 support for Radeon RX 7000-series cards and newer; unsupported GPUs use FSR 2. Feature availability and performance depend on the GPU and chosen rendering mode.

What changed from the 2022 Next-Gen Update?
The 2022 update was version 4.0. It introduced ray-traced global illumination and ambient occlusion, optional ray-traced reflections and shadows on compatible PC hardware, Ultra+ settings and DLSS 3. Remastered is the later release and has changed system requirements; older guides based on version 4.0 or the original game may not describe the current build accurately.

CD PROJEKT RED announced Remastered for September 29, 2026, and confirmed its release on that date. The company said the upgrade is free for existing owners within the same platform ecosystem. The release includes Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. Some platforms allow players to revert to earlier versions, including 1.32 Classic and 4.04, so check which build you have before comparing a guide’s requirements with your installation.

How to check your PC against the requirements
- Check Windows: Confirm that the PC runs 64-bit Windows 11. Windows 10 is no longer officially supported or tested for the current requirements.
- Check the processor and graphics card: Identify your CPU and GPU, then compare their exact model names with the minimum list. Do not assume that a card from another generation or manufacturer performs equivalently based on its name alone.
