CD PROJEKT RED’s Patch 5.00b, posted October 1, 2026, fixes an issue that left DLSS unavailable in the Xbox Play Anywhere version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered on PC. The patch also adjusts lighting, including interiors that appeared too dark, and makes other changes intended to bring that PC version into parity with the PC version. A separate PC hotfix, 5.00c, was published the same day with additional fixes.
What Patch 5.00b fixes
The missing-DLSS bug was specific to the Xbox Play Anywhere edition running on PC; the official notes do not describe it as a problem affecting every PC storefront or Xbox consoles. CD PROJEKT RED’s patch notes say: “Fixed an issue where DLSS was unavailable in the Xbox Play Anywhere version of the game on PC.” The notes list Patch 5.00b for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Play Anywhere PC.

The same update adjusted lighting, including overly dark interiors, and made other adjustments intended to ensure parity with the PC version. Those additional changes are described broadly in the official notes rather than itemized as a full list of differences.

Before the patch, CD PROJEKT RED support had acknowledged the issue under the title “DLSS cannot be enabled on Xbox Play Anywhere” and said a hotfix was being prepared. Patch 5.00b is the subsequently documented fix.

Hotfix 5.00c is a separate PC update
Also posted October 1, 2026, Hotfix 5.00c covers Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, and Xbox Play Anywhere PC. Its fixes are distinct from Patch 5.00b’s platform scope and lighting/DLSS changes.
- Saving and loading: Fixed a failure to save or load when the path to the Documents folder contained special characters. CD PROJEKT RED’s note says: “Fixed an issue where the game couldn’t be saved or loaded if the path to the Documents folder contained special characters.” This does not establish that the hotfix resolves every save or load problem.
- Pause-menu voiceover: Fixed voiceover becoming quieter after navigating between pause-menu tabs.
- Velen visuals: Fixed several visual issues in the region.
- HairWorks: Reverted a change that had caused significant performance and visual problems for some users with HairWorks enabled. This is not a claim of a general performance boost for all HairWorks users.
- Settings and achievements: Fixed marketing telemetry settings not being saved and an issue with the GOG achievement list.
- Classic version: Fixed an inability to launch version 1.32.
What DLSS support does—and does not—mean
The remaster’s PC feature notes list Path Tracing, NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 with Ray Reconstruction, AMD FSR 4 with Frame Generation and Anti-Lag 2, and Intel XeSS 2.0 with Frame Generation and Low Latency. CD PROJEKT RED says FSR 4 is supported on Radeon RX 7000 Series and newer GPUs; unsupported GPUs use FSR 2. The developer also warns that system requirements changed.

- Unique atmosphere, memorable characters and gritty dialog - the game world has its own unique feel. It is a classic dark fantasy tale that will appeal to fans of all kinds of fantasy stories.
These feature listings do not guarantee DLSS will be available on every PC. The official notes do not provide a complete DLSS GPU compatibility matrix, so check the current system requirements and your hardware’s feature support rather than treating the Xbox Play Anywhere fix as a compatibility guarantee.

The game’s platform and license matter. CD PROJEKT RED described Remastered as a free upgrade for owners on GOG, Steam, Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and announced a Switch 2 upgrade for original Switch owners. Its September 29, 2026 announcement says Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are included. Eligibility can depend on the specific store listing and license, so confirm it against the current official platform listing instead of assuming entitlements transfer between storefronts.

The Xbox Store lists The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered as an Xbox Play Anywhere product. That is relevant to players checking access on Xbox and PC, but it does not establish a universal rule for every historical purchase or license.

CD PROJEKT RED’s Remastered FAQ says existing saves are compatible. It also notes that the skill-system overhaul resets skills. Previously earned base-game and expansion achievements carry over.
