Where to start “Duck, Duck, Goosed!”
This is a secondary quest in Blood and Wine, set in Toussaint’s Land of a Thousand Fables. The Witcher Wiki lists Albertus Grotto as the location, the notice board in the Land of a Thousand Fables as the quest source, and level 47 as the suggested level; the page gives no publication year for those details. How to find and free the goose
- Take the notice. Find it on the notice board in the Land of a Thousand Fables.
- Search the home. Go to the goose’s home and use Witcher Senses to find her tracks. The abandoned home and plucked feathers point to an abduction.
- Follow the tracks. Track them to Redbeard and his bandits. The Games Lantern walkthrough gives the same objective sequence.
- Defeat the bandits. Fight Redbeard and his group before searching for the key.
- Find the cage key. Use Witcher Senses to locate it; the quest reference places it on Redbeard’s body.
- Unlock the cage. Use the key to free the goose and finish the quest.
What the Golden Egg does
The quest reference lists the Golden Egg and 250 XP as rewards for freeing the goose. Game8 says that consuming the egg grants an extra skill point, but the available guide account does not establish that the effect works on every platform or version. See Game8’s Golden Egg guide. If you want to use the egg for that reported effect, consume it rather than selling or discarding it.

Is there a choice or alternate reward?
The reviewed walkthroughs show a linear objective sequence ending with freeing the goose; they do not document a branching choice or alternate reward. The quest reference identifies it as a Blood and Wine quest, so base-game access alone should not be assumed to include it. Exact edition contents and platform availability are not established by the cited quest guides.
