The store descriptions place you in Oakmont as a private investigator looking into supernatural forces. They describe cases as having multiple possible solutions and say player actions can affect the ending. Approach a case as an investigation with choices, not as a checklist with one guaranteed sequence.

Keep track of which conclusions you have drawn and which choices you have made. If you use a case guide, check its spoilers before reading: a guide that reveals a deduction or ending can remove the uncertainty the investigation is designed around.
Separate general mechanics from case-specific directions
The official descriptions support the broad idea of branching case solutions, but they do not establish specific clue locations, deductions, or a universal order for solving individual cases. Do not assume that a route written for another edition—or for The Sinking City 2—applies to this remaster. For detailed directions, use a guide that explicitly identifies The Sinking City Remastered and the relevant platform.

Features vary by platform, so the listings should not be treated as a promise that every option is available on every version.

Does an original console edition qualify for the free remaster upgrade?
According to the Frogwares Remastered FAQ, the free console upgrade applies to owners of the original edition specifically released for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S. The PS4 and Xbox One editions do not qualify under that stated rule. Check that your owned edition matches the console generation before expecting an upgrade.
