There are two different floodgate puzzles in The Sinking City 2: the opening gate uses a three-fuse panel, while the later Church Floodgate uses a four-digit code. Use the fuse layout for the first gate or enter 1672 at the Church lock.
Opening fuse-box gate: how to solve the first floodgate
If you are at the gate near the start of the game, you need three fuses from the Allen Radio Store. The nearby “Gate Fuses and Wires” note explains the rule: each fuse must connect wires of the same colour, and the fuse’s shape determines its slot. - Follow the opening route to the Allen Radio Store, also described in walkthrough coverage as the electrical store, and collect all three fuses.
- Return to the fuse box beside the floodgate lever and read the “Gate Fuses and Wires” note if you want the in-game hint.
- Place the straight two-ended fuse on the blue wires at the left, the three-ended fuse on the green wires in the middle, and the remaining two-ended fuse on the red wires at the right. Rotate the fuses as needed.
- Validate the arrangement, then pull the lever to open the gate.

If you have reached the later Church Floodgate, the answer is 1672. This is a year-code puzzle, not the opening fuse panel; the lock asks for the year of the church bell rather than the church’s founding year.
Connect the clues “Floodgate Lock,” “Origins of the Redemption Church,” and “Report on the Bell.” The church was founded in 1667, and the bell was made and installed five years later: 1667 + 5 = 1672.
