Spoilers: This guide covers major fight mechanics and late-game encounters. For Shoggoth, activate all three arena devices, then shoot its exposed eyes; for Slither Prime, stay mobile, clear threatening summoned enemies, and target its glowing head. The Acheronian Juggernaut is officially described as “mini-boss-tier,” while other encounter labels vary by source, so the list below distinguishes confirmed guidance from video-labeled fights.
Which fights count as bosses in The Sinking City 2?
There is no definitive roster established across the available sources. The clearest actionable boss guide treats Shoggoth and Slither Prime as major late-game arena or final-boss encounters. Xbox Wire calls the Acheronian Juggernaut “mini-boss-tier”; a separate guide and gameplay video also label it a boss. A launch-build video names several more fights, but its chapter labels are a creator’s encounter index, not an official developer taxonomy.

The distinction matters when looking for a complete list: a named encounter in a video does not necessarily mean the game or its developer classifies it as a conventional boss. The table separates the fights by the kind of evidence available.
| Encounter | Classification supported by sources | Key mechanic or advice |
|---|---|---|
| Shoggoth | Major late-game arena fight in an independent guide | Activate three devices to expose its eyes; fire at the eyes. |
| Slither Prime | Final-boss fight in an independent guide | Target its glowing head, stay mobile, and clear adds that threaten to surround you. |
| Acheronian Juggernaut | Officially described by Xbox Wire as “mini-boss-tier”; also labeled a boss by a guide and video | Keep space and attack exposed growths rather than trading hits, according to the guide. |
| The Showman, The Onslaught, The Deep One, Giant Mass | Bosses in a launch-build gameplay video’s chapter labels; not established as an official roster | The reviewed sources do not establish detailed tactics for these encounters. |
| Ezra & Shadow | Final combat phase in the Holloway Manor DLC, according to the guide | The guide describes managing Shadow pressure, but the reviewed sources do not establish a complete step-by-step strategy. |
How to beat Shoggoth
- Prepare before entering. Use the safe room to ready weapons and healing before dropping into the arena.
- Find and activate all three devices. Keep moving as you work around the arena; activating the devices exposes the Shoggoth’s eyes.
- Shoot the exposed eyes. Aim accurately at the weak point. Firing at the body before the eyes are exposed uses ammunition without advancing the encounter.
- Repeat the device-and-eye cycle. The fight becomes more pressured after each damage phase, so avoid lingering in one position.
How to beat Slither Prime
- Load up at the final safe area. Craft and load ammunition before opening the large door.
- Move through open space. Keep room to maneuver and look for a clear firing lane to the boss’s glowing head.
- Break off to deal with dangerous summons. If summoned enemies are about to surround Calvin, eliminate them before returning to the boss.
- Create distance before reloading. Once you have space, reload and resume targeting the head when the lane is clear.
How to handle the Acheronian Juggernaut
Xbox Wire describes this enemy as slow, powerful, and resilient, with positioning especially important in enclosed spaces. The independent guide recommends keeping your distance and punishing exposed growths instead of trading blows; that specific weak-point tactic comes from the guide, not the Xbox Wire feature. Treat it as a boss-like or mini-boss encounter rather than assuming every source uses the same category.

Xbox Wire also notes that Calvin can dodge, punch, and stomp. Stomping can stop Slither worms from repossessing corpses, a useful combat detail when those enemies are present, but it is not a substitute for the named boss mechanics above.
Other labeled encounters and the Holloway Manor DLC
Video-labeled encounters
A launch-build gameplay video labels The Showman, the Acheronian Juggernaut, The Onslaught, The Deep One, Giant Mass, and Slither Prime as bosses. It also labels an early sequence “First Enemy” and includes “Meeting Ma,” so its chapter list may include encounters that are not conventional boss fights. Use these names as a video-based index, not a canonical or exhaustive roster.
Ezra & Shadow in Holloway Manor
The independent guide identifies Ezra & Shadow as the DLC’s final combat phase and describes managing pressure from Shadow. Steam lists Holloway Manor as downloadable content. Keep this encounter separate from the base-game fights; detailed mechanics for it are not established in the reviewed sources.
Prepare for arena fights without wasting supplies
The Sinking City 2 is a third-person survival horror game set in 1920s Arkham. Its Steam description and Xbox Wire’s feature emphasize exploration, combat, and resource management. For the fights covered here, that makes preparation and deliberate ammunition use more useful than assuming there is one universally best weapon or a fixed damage threshold; the sources reviewed do not establish boss-specific damage values, ammunition counts, or a weapon ranking.
Rank #3
- Use the safe room before a major arena to prepare weapons and healing.
- Identify the mechanic that opens a damage opportunity before spending ammunition: Shoggoth’s eyes must be exposed, while Slither Prime’s glowing head is the recommended target.
- Keep movement and escape space in mind, particularly when summons or a confined arena threaten to restrict positioning.
Sources and scope
The independent boss guide supplies the practical Shoggoth and Slither Prime steps and its Juggernaut weak-point advice. Xbox Wire supplies the official “mini-boss-tier” classification and general combat context. Steam confirms the game’s August 18, 2026 release date, Frogwares as developer and publisher, and Holloway Manor as DLC. The video’s extra encounter names are creator-labeled. Together, these sources support useful fight guidance but not a universally accepted, exhaustive boss roster.
