Not as a native iPad app. Electronic Arts currently lists The Sims 4 for PC, Mac, Xbox and PlayStation, but not iPadOS. If you own the game on Steam and have a computer running it, you can stream the game to an iPad with Steam Link. The Sims Mobile is available for iPad, but it is a separate game—not The Sims 4.
Can you download The Sims 4 directly onto an iPad?
No. EA’s current Sims 4 FAQ lists PC, Mac, Xbox and PlayStation as supported platforms, not iPad or iPadOS. Its store page links to Windows, Mac, PlayStation, Xbox, Steam and Epic options. There is no EA-listed native iPad version to install.

How to play The Sims 4 on an iPad with Steam Link
Steam lists The Sims 4 as supporting Remote Play on Tablet. With this setup, the game runs on the host computer; Steam Link sends its video to the iPad and returns your input to the computer. You need The Sims 4 available through Steam, a computer running Steam, Steam Link on the iPad and a wireless network.

- Set up the host computer. Install and launch Steam on the computer that will run The Sims 4, and make sure the game is available there.
- Install Steam Link on the iPad. Find the app in the iPad’s App Store, then open it.
- Connect both devices to the same network for initial setup. Valve’s Steam Link setup instructions call for a computer running Steam and a 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz wireless router; the starter pairing steps place the host computer and iOS device on the same network.
- Pair the iPad with the host. Follow Steam Link’s on-screen pairing steps and complete any connection check it offers.
- Launch The Sims 4 from the Steam session. The computer runs the game while the iPad displays the stream. Try the controls you intend to use before relying on the setup away from home.
Input options
Valve lists MFi controllers, Xbox One S controllers on iOS 13 or later, DualShock 4 controllers on iOS 13 or later, and the Razer Kishi among supported Steam Link inputs. This does not mean a controller is mandatory: Steam Link’s supported-input list is not a Sims 4-specific control guarantee. Check whether your preferred controls work comfortably with the game on your setup.
What affects the experience
Streaming depends on both the computer running the game and the network carrying its video and input. Valve’s documentation does not promise a particular experience for every iPad, home or hotel network, or control arrangement. A capable host computer is essential, and a weak or unreliable connection can make streamed play frustrating. Test the pairing, connection and controls before leaving home rather than assuming the setup will work equally well elsewhere.

What the iPad does—and does not—need
The computer, not the iPad, must meet The Sims 4’s game requirements. EA’s PC and Mac system requirements list a minimum PC configuration that includes 64-bit Windows 10, a supported CPU, 4 GB RAM, 25 GB free disk space and compatible graphics. The Mac version has separate requirements, including macOS 10.15 and Metal support. These figures describe host computers, not iPads; consult EA’s page for the current complete requirements before setting up a host.
EA says an internet connection is needed to activate The Sims 4 and use online features, while its FAQ says the game can be played offline once installed. That offline option does not make Steam Link streaming local: streaming still requires the host and a functioning network connection between the devices.

Is The Sims Mobile the same as The Sims 4?
No. The Sims Mobile is a separate mobile game that EA documents for iPad; EA’s requirements page says iPadOS 11.0 or later and notes that supported devices can change. Installing it gives you The Sims Mobile, not a portable version of The Sims 4.
Choose between the routes based on which game you want: Steam Link can stream the PC game if you have the required computer and setup, while The Sims Mobile is a distinct game designed for mobile devices.
