The right choice depends on the part of your Galaxy you want to change: Home Up for home-screen layout and animations, Theme Park for colors, icons and folders, Sound Assistant for detailed audio control, and One Hand Operation+ for thumb-friendly gestures. If you use a compatible S Pen, Pentastic adds pen-specific themes, sounds and shortcuts.
Good Lock modules are optional customisation tools from Samsung. Install only the modules that solve a specific problem, and verify support on your own phone in Galaxy Store because module availability can differ by model, One UI version, carrier and region.

Which Good Lock module should you install?
Use this goal-based guide rather than treating download totals as a quality ranking. A module can be extremely popular and still be irrelevant to the way you use your phone.
Recommended Free Tools
| Your goal | Best starting module | What it changes | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rearrange the home screen | Home Up | App, widget and folder placement; favorites-row visibility; home gesture animations | The feature description cited here reflects the One UI 7-era release; support can change with later software. |
| Coordinate colors and icons | Theme Park | Color schemes, keyboard and Quick Panel styling, messaging colors, app icons and folder appearance | Not every interface element is themeable on every Galaxy model. |
| Control volume more precisely | Sound Assistant | Finer volume steps, per-app levels and media-volume behavior | The benefit is greatest when Samsung’s standard sound controls are not granular enough for you. |
| Reach controls with one thumb | One Hand Operation+ | Horizontal, vertical and diagonal swipe actions, touch zones and exclusions | Gesture assignments are personal; begin with a small set to avoid accidental triggers. |
| Personalise an S Pen | Pentastic | Pen themes, sounds, pointer and command customization, and shortcuts | Useful only on a device with supported S Pen functionality; the availability information cited for it is historical. |
What Good Lock does—and what it does not do
Good Lock is Samsung’s collection of modular interface tools. Instead of replacing One UI with a different launcher or firmware, each module adds controls to one area of the existing Galaxy experience. You can install one module, several modules or none at all. Removing a module leaves the rest of the phone’s standard interface in place.

- BRING OUT THE BEST IN EVERY FACE: Capture every portrait with clarity and confidence on the Galaxy S25+ Series. The advanced portrait features adjust skin tones and preserve natural textures, giving every shot a polished, professional look.
- MORE POWER TO YOU: Reimagine what’s possible with the Galaxy S25+, featuring our most powerful processor yet. Effortlessly translate your calls, slow down a video, or edit your photos without skipping a beat.
These tools are for interface behavior and presentation. They do not turn an unsupported phone into an S Pen device, guarantee that every One UI feature is available, or provide a universal theme for every screen. Samsung changes module features as One UI changes, so instructions and menus can look different after an update.
Check compatibility before you spend time configuring anything
Compatibility is device-specific. Samsung’s United States announcement for the One UI 7 rollout said distribution would start April 7, 2025, with timing varying by carrier. The rollout families named in that announcement included the Galaxy S24 and S24 FE, S23 and S23 FE, Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, Z Fold5 and Z Flip5, Tab S10 and Tab S9. That was an operating-system rollout announcement, not a complete Good Lock support chart.
Do not assume that a phone on that list supports every module, or that the same module is available in every country. A 2020 Samsung feature overview listed Good Lock availability in Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States, but those regional notes are too old to use as a current availability list.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- Open Galaxy Store on the actual Galaxy phone or tablet you plan to customise.
- Search for Good Lock and install Samsung’s app if it is offered for your device and region.
- Open the module listing you want and read its current compatibility and One UI requirements before installing it.
- Install one module first, test it, then add another. This makes it easier to identify which setting caused an unexpected behavior.
- After a major One UI update, revisit each module’s Galaxy Store page. A previously available feature may be revised, renamed or temporarily unavailable.
Home Up: the best choice for home-screen layout
Choose Home Up when your frustration is about where things sit on the home screen rather than how they look. Samsung’s One UI 7-era description says Home Up can resize and reposition apps, widgets and folders, hide the favorites row, and adjust home gesture animations.
What you can change
- App, widget and folder placement: make better use of empty space or create a denser layout without moving to a third-party launcher.
- Favorites-row visibility: hide the row if it consumes space or conflicts with your preferred arrangement.
- Home gesture animation: tune the visual transition used when moving around the home experience.
- Sticker shortcuts: Samsung’s One UI 7-era walkthrough describes placing stickers over app icons and using them as tappable shortcuts. Treat this as a software-version-dependent feature, not a promise for every Galaxy.
Who should use Home Up?
Home Up suits people who have a specific spatial preference: a minimal first page, a compact tablet layout, or a home screen organised around widgets rather than a conventional icon grid. It is also the most relevant module when you want the home gesture to feel less abrupt without changing the entire navigation system.
Home Up caveats
The cited Samsung walkthrough demonstrates the One UI 7-era version, including an example on a Galaxy S25 Ultra. That does not establish identical controls on older phones, tablets or later software. Check the live module listing and expect some options to be unavailable when the underlying launcher or One UI build differs.

Theme Park: the best choice for a coordinated look
Theme Park is the visual customisation module. It can create color schemes across several One UI components, including the keyboard, Quick Panel and messaging interface. Samsung’s One UI 7-era description also covers app-icon styling and home-screen folder shape and color.

How Theme Park helps
- Wallpaper-based palettes: generate a starting palette from your wallpaper instead of selecting every color manually.
- System component colors: coordinate the appearance of areas such as the keyboard, Quick Panel and messaging interface.
- App icons: apply a matching icon treatment so the home screen does not mix unrelated visual styles.
- Folders: adjust folder shape and color on supported One UI versions.
Best use cases
Use Theme Park when you want the phone to look intentionally consistent—for example, a muted palette for a dark wallpaper or a brighter set of accents for a high-contrast home screen. It is more useful for a complete visual direction than for changing one isolated color.
Limits to expect
“Themeable” does not mean every pixel of every app will change. Samsung’s own descriptions identify particular interface components, and third-party apps can draw their own controls. A palette that works on one Galaxy may expose fewer choices on another. Preview the result, then keep the original theme available so you can revert if text contrast or icon recognition suffers.
Sound Assistant: the best choice for detailed volume control
Sound Assistant is the practical choice when the standard volume slider feels too coarse or when different apps need different levels. Samsung describes finer volume adjustment, per-app volume settings and controls that change how the hardware volume keys behave.
Controls that matter
- Finer steps: make smaller changes while listening to music, podcasts or video.
- Per-app volume: set an individual level for an app instead of repeatedly changing the phone’s master volume.
- Volume-button assignment: configure the buttons for media control rather than relying on the default behavior.
- Navigation behavior: use the option that prevents media volume from dropping when navigation instructions speak, when supported by the current module version.
When Sound Assistant is worth installing
It is a strong fit for people who switch between audio sources, keep navigation running while listening to media, or need quiet increments late at night. If Samsung’s normal volume panel already gives you the control you need, adding another layer may not improve your routine.
Popularity context
Samsung Newsroom South Africa reported more than 21 million cumulative downloads for Sound Assistant as of early March 2025, making it the most downloaded of the three modules highlighted in that article. The figure counts downloads since launch, not active users, satisfaction or current effectiveness.

One Hand Operation+: the best choice for reachability and gestures
One Hand Operation+ maps actions to swipes from the left or right edge. Samsung describes horizontal, vertical and diagonal gestures, support for both hands, and settings that refine the touch area and feedback.
Useful configuration options
- Directional actions: assign different commands to short horizontal, straight vertical and diagonal swipes.
- Two-hand support: configure the left and right edges independently so either thumb can reach the same or different actions.
- Touch range: change the active height and width of the gesture area to suit your case and grip.
- Vibration: enable or adjust feedback so you know a gesture registered.
- App exclusions: keep gestures from firing inside apps where edge swipes are already meaningful, such as games or drawing tools.
- S Pen gestures: Samsung lists S Pen-related gesture controls, but these require a compatible device and pen.
A safe way to set it up
- Assign one low-risk action, such as going back, to a single swipe direction.
- Use the phone normally for a day before adding more commands.
- Move the touch zone away from controls you frequently tap, and add exclusions for apps that conflict.
- Add vibration only if you need confirmation; disable it if the feedback becomes distracting.
One Hand Operation+ is especially useful on tall phones, large foldables and tablets used in portrait orientation. It does not physically shrink the display; it changes how you reach commands.
Samsung Newsroom South Africa reported more than 16 million cumulative downloads through early March 2025. Again, that is a historical download total rather than a current ranking.
Pentastic: the specialist option for S Pen owners
Pentastic is not a general Galaxy customisation tool. It is for devices with supported S Pen functionality and focuses on the pen’s presentation and behavior. Samsung’s description includes S Pen themes, sounds, command and pointer customisation, and shortcuts.
When Pentastic makes sense
Install it when you use the pen frequently and want a distinctive pointer, a different sound or quicker access to pen commands. It can make a supported tablet or phone feel more personal without changing the rest of the One UI design.
Compatibility warning
The cited Samsung availability information for Pentastic dates from 2020. It establishes the relationship between the module and S Pen features, not compatibility with every current pen or Galaxy model. Confirm support on the specific device before buying or configuring an S Pen.

How the modules compare by control and effort
| Module | Primary area | Depth of control | Best reason to keep it installed | Most likely drawback |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Home Up | Layout and home behavior | High for the launcher, limited outside it | Your home screen needs a different arrangement or gesture feel | Some options depend on the One UI version |
| Theme Park | Visual styling | Broad across supported components | You want colors, icons and folders to look coordinated | Third-party apps and unsupported elements may remain unchanged |
| Sound Assistant | Audio | High for volume behavior | You need per-app levels or smaller volume increments | Extra controls are unnecessary if standard sound settings already work |
| One Hand Operation+ | Navigation and reachability | High for edge gestures | You regularly use the phone one-handed | Incorrect touch zones can cause accidental actions |
| Pentastic | S Pen behavior and appearance | Focused and device-dependent | You use an S Pen enough to value custom commands and feedback | No benefit on a phone or tablet without compatible S Pen support |
Popular does not necessarily mean best
Samsung Newsroom South Africa’s May 7, 2025 article identified three most-downloaded Good Lock features using cumulative totals through early March 2025:
| Module | Cumulative downloads reported | What the number means |
|---|---|---|
| Sound Assistant | More than 21 million | Downloads since launch, measured through early March 2025 |
| Theme Park | More than 17 million | Downloads since launch, measured through early March 2025 |
| One Hand Operation+ | More than 16 million | Downloads since launch, measured through early March 2025 |
These totals are useful context, not a live leaderboard. They do not show how many people still use each module, whether users are satisfied, which models they own, or which module is most effective for your goal. Home Up can be the right answer for a layout problem even though it was not included in that top-three download summary.
Combining modules without making the interface confusing
The modules address different layers, so combinations can work well when each has a clear job.
A clean visual and layout setup
Use Home Up to establish the grid, spacing and favorites-row choice first. Then use Theme Park to select colors, icons and folders. Changing the layout after styling icons can create extra work, so treat placement as the foundation.
A one-handed media setup
Use One Hand Operation+ for a small number of navigation actions and Sound Assistant for volume behavior. Keep the gesture zones away from the edge controls used by your music or video apps, and exclude any app where swiping from the edge is part of normal use.

Troubleshooting common problems
A module does not appear in Galaxy Store
Check the phone’s model, region and One UI version, then search again from the device itself rather than relying on a web listing. Availability can vary by country and software build. If Samsung does not offer the module for that device, do not sideload an unofficial package as a substitute.
An option described online is missing
Feature descriptions can refer to a particular One UI generation. Confirm that the phone is running the required software, update Good Lock and the module, and read the current Galaxy Store notes. A feature shown in a One UI 7 walkthrough is not proof that it exists on an older build.
Gestures trigger by accident
Reduce the active touch range, move the gesture area, assign fewer actions and add app exclusions. Test while holding the phone in your usual case and grip; a setting that works without a case can become unreliable once the case changes the edge area.
The theme looks inconsistent
Review contrast and icon legibility before applying every available style. Theme Park can change supported Samsung components while leaving third-party interfaces untouched. If one screen becomes difficult to read, revert that theme or choose a simpler palette rather than forcing every element to match.
Audio behavior becomes confusing
Check per-app levels and the volume-button assignment in Sound Assistant before changing the phone’s master volume. If the behavior is worse than the standard controls, disable the specific Sound Assistant option instead of removing unrelated Good Lock modules.
A practical decision checklist
- Start with the problem, not the download count.
- Choose Home Up for placement and home gestures.
- Choose Theme Park for colors, icons and folder styling.
- Choose Sound Assistant for precise or app-specific audio control.
- Choose One Hand Operation+ for edge-swipe commands and reachability.
- Choose Pentastic only when you have supported S Pen hardware.
- Verify the module listing on your own device, especially after a One UI update.
- Install and configure one module at a time so conflicts are easy to identify.
Bottom line: match the module to the part of the Galaxy you want to change
For most people, Home Up, Theme Park, Sound Assistant and One Hand Operation+ cover the meaningful customisation choices: layout, appearance, audio and navigation. Pentastic is the specialist addition for S Pen owners. Samsung’s early-March-2025 download totals show which modules were widely downloaded, but they cannot decide what is best for your phone. Your Galaxy model, One UI version, region and personal habits should make that decision.
