What charger do you need for iPhone 18 Pro fast charging?
For Apple’s stated wired result—up to 50% charge in around 15 minutes—the setup calls for a power adapter supporting USB PD 3.1 or later with AVS, plus a USB-C cable capable of 60W. Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro specifications summarize the claim; its support test note gives the more specific requirements and test conditions.

A “60W” or higher label describes a power rating, not the complete charging protocol. To assess a different adapter, check the exact model and regional version for all of the following:
- USB PD 3.1 or later.
- Explicit support for Adjustable Voltage Supply (AVS).
- At least 60W available from the USB-C port in the configuration you intend to use.
- A 60W-capable USB-C cable.
- For a multiport adapter, the power available to that port when other ports are in use.
Which adapter did Apple use?
Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max (Model A3351)
Apple identifies this adapter as the one used in its iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max wired charging test, and lists it as an iPhone 18 Pro accessory. The adapter’s name distinguishes its 40W rating from a maximum of 60W; it is the specifically evidenced choice here, rather than one item in a substantiated four-adapter ranking. Does a 65W USB-C charger fast-charge iPhone 18 Pro?
Not necessarily at the rate Apple advertises. For example, UGREEN’s 65W three-port charger listing specifies PD 3.0/2.0 and up to 65W single-port USB-C output. Those details alone do not establish the PD 3.1-or-later and AVS support Apple specifies. That does not prove the charger cannot charge an iPhone; it means its listed wattage is not enough to verify Apple’s stated fast-charge setup. Check the exact model’s protocol support and port behavior before buying for that purpose.
How to interpret Apple’s 50%-in-15-minutes figure
Apple describes the wired result as “up to” 50% in around 15 minutes, not a guaranteed time for every charging session. Apple’s July 2026 test note says it used drained preproduction iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max devices and software, and that results vary with the adapter, settings, usage, and environment. The figure applies to Apple’s specified setup and test, rather than every adapter carrying a 60W or 65W label.

What about wireless charging?
