The best TV for Nintendo Switch 2 depends on your room and budget: RTINGS’ current picks are the Samsung S95H OLED for the strongest all-around picture, the LG C6 OLED for OLED quality at a different price point, the Hisense U7SG for bright-room play, the TCL QM6K as a budget option, and the Hisense QD6QF as the cheapest pick. One important limit shapes every choice: Switch 2 supports up to 4K at 60 fps, not 4K at 120 fps. Compatible games and TVs can also support 1440p at up to 120 fps, HDR, and TV-mode VRR.
What matters when choosing a Switch 2 TV
Nintendo’s included dock connects the console to a TV. In supported games, a compatible display can provide 4K resolution, HDR, VRR, and frame rates up to 120 fps. However, 4K output is capped at 60 fps; a 120Hz-or-faster TV is useful for supported higher-frame-rate modes such as 1440p/120Hz, not for 4K/120 from Switch 2. Nintendo added TV-mode VRR support in the system update released September 10, 2026. The game and TV must also support the feature. Nintendo’s Switch 2 features page states: “4K resolution, HDR, and VRR in TV Mode are available in supported games and require a compatible display.”

When comparing TVs, consider more than refresh-rate numbers. Brightness and reflection handling affect daytime visibility; viewing angles matter for couch co-op; and OLED and LCD sets differ in black levels and price. If multiple consoles or devices will be connected, check both the number of HDMI 2.1 ports and which inputs support the modes you need.

Samsung S95H OLED: best overall
The S95H combines bright, vivid QD-OLED color with wide viewing angles, low input lag, and four HDMI 2.1 ports. Its matte screen helps reduce reflections, a useful advantage when windows or lamps face the TV. The trade-off is that black areas can look gray in bright rooms, so it is a stronger fit for moderate or darker lighting than for a very sunny room.

LG C6 OLED 2026: OLED alternative
Choose the C6 if you want OLED black levels but prefer a glossy screen or the S95H is beyond your budget. RTINGS describes it as less bright and less vivid in color than the Samsung. Its listed sizes also include smaller 42- and 48-inch options, which may suit a desk or compact room.
Hisense U7SG: lower mid-range for brighter rooms
The U7SG’s strong brightness and anti-reflective treatment make it a practical option for daytime gaming. RTINGS lists a 4K resolution and 165Hz native panel. Its LCD picture does not deliver the same black performance as the OLED picks, and RTINGS notes more motion blur than on the Samsung and LG.

TCL QM6K: budget pick
The QM6K retains a responsive gaming experience while supporting 4K/60Hz and 1440p/120Hz. RTINGS places its brightness, color, and black levels below the U7SG’s, making it a better match for a moderately lit room than a sunlit one.
Hisense QD6QF: cheapest pick
The QD6QF is the entry-level choice in this group, but its picture is muted, its blacks look grayish, and visibility is limited in bright rooms. Although it offers 1440p/120Hz, RTINGS reports unusually high input lag in that mode and recommends that most buyers use 4K/60Hz instead. Its narrow viewing angles are another compromise for group play.

How to choose the right one for your setup
- For the strongest picture and several connected devices: Consider the S95H for its QD-OLED color, wide viewing angles, and four HDMI 2.1 ports. Think about the room’s lighting because its blacks can look gray in bright conditions.
- For OLED in a smaller room: The C6 has listed 42- and 48-inch sizes, glossy-screen OLED black levels, and lower brightness and color vividness than the S95H.
- For daytime play: The U7SG’s brightness and anti-reflective treatment are its main advantages. If the room is only moderately lit, the QM6K may be a budget alternative, with weaker picture performance.
- For the lowest-cost option: The QD6QF makes compromises in picture quality, bright-room visibility, viewing angles, and 1440p/120 input lag. Plan to use 4K/60Hz if following RTINGS’ guidance for most buyers.
- For high-frame-rate play: Check whether the specific games you play support a higher-frame-rate mode, such as 1440p/120Hz, and verify the TV’s support for that mode. Do not buy on the assumption that Switch 2 outputs 4K/120.
- For VRR: Confirm that both the game and TV support it. TV-mode support arrived in the September 10, 2026 system update; compatible hardware alone does not make every game use VRR.
- Before ordering: Confirm the complete regional model code, screen size, stand or wall-mount dimensions, current listing, and which HDMI inputs support the modes you want. RTINGS’ guide and listed sizes are US-focused, and regional variants may differ.

VRR, or variable refresh rate, lets a compatible display vary how often it refreshes to align with the output of a VRR-compatible game. TV-mode support on Switch 2 requires the relevant system update, a compatible TV, and a game that supports VRR. Nintendo’s FAQ explains the feature.
