If your Tesla delivery estimate has slipped, check the Tesla app for the latest timing and complete any outstanding pre-delivery tasks. The estimate can change or temporarily disappear while schedules update; Tesla says it will notify you to schedule after a reported delay is resolved. You can reschedule some U.S. appointments in the app, but changing pickup locations may be limited once a VIN is assigned. Cancellation is available through the app, though fees and other consequences depend on the agreement and local rules.
My vehicle delivery has been delayed and is now past the estimated window I got when I placed the order. When will I get my vehicle?
Tesla does not promise a new delivery date when an estimate passes. Its U.S. Taking Delivery support page says, “The Tesla app will be the source of truth for your delivery timing after placing your order.” The estimate may move or temporarily disappear while manufacturing and logistics schedules are updated. Tesla says it will notify you to schedule once the reported delay is resolved.

- Check the Tesla app. Review the current estimate, messages, and any new pre-delivery tasks. A missing estimate is not, by itself, a confirmed delivery date.
- Complete outstanding tasks promptly. Depending on your purchase and location, these may include registration and delivery-location details, trade-in information, financing or payment, and insurance. Tesla recommends finishing requested steps early; requirements vary by payment method and market. See Tesla’s U.S. ordering guidance and financing support.
- Wait for Tesla’s scheduling notification after the delay is resolved, then use the app to choose an available appointment.
- If you need a car sooner, check existing inventory. Tesla suggests this option, but does not guarantee that an inventory vehicle will be available or delivered sooner.
Timing depends on production, logistics, location, and completion of required tasks. Another buyer’s delivery experience is not a reliable forecast for your order.

For the U.S. process, open the Tesla app and go to pre-delivery tasks → Scheduling → Reschedule, then select an available date and time. - 【IMPORTANT: SHIPPING CREASE RECOVERY】: Due to compact packaging during shipping, your floor mats or cargo liners may arrive with temporary folds or creases. This is normal and does not indicate a product defect. Please see our dedicated crease recovery video in the main product video section for step-by-step instructions. Simply unroll the mats, lay them flat in a warm environment, and allow them to recover naturally. For stubborn creases, gently warm the affected area with a hair dryer on low heat while smoothing it by hand. Do not use high heat or place the heat source directly against the mat. Most creases will gradually disappear with proper recovery and normal use.

Procedures differ by market. Tesla Canada instructs customers who need a different delivery date or location to contact their local delivery center: Tesla Canada delivery support.
My delivery location is not convenient. Can I pick my vehicle up at another location?
Possibly, but first check whether Tesla has assigned a VIN. Tesla says it may assign a vehicle within a 90-minute drive of the delivery address; that is a policy statement, not a guarantee of a particular pickup site. Once a VIN is assigned, Tesla says the vehicle cannot be moved to another location. If you cannot collect it at the assigned site, Tesla says it would need to assign a different vehicle, which may significantly affect the estimate.

The U.S. Motor Vehicle Order Agreement says changes may be subject to price increases reflecting adjustments since the original order date. How do I cancel my vehicle order?
Tesla’s U.S. support instructions give this in-app path:
- Open the Tesla app and tap Vehicle Details.
- Tap Manage, then Request to cancel.
- Choose a reason, tap Submit Cancellation, and confirm.
Tesla’s U.S. ordering page describes the order fee as a one-time, non-refundable fee. That wording should not be treated as a universal legal conclusion: review the agreement governing your order and the consumer rules where you live. Cancellation consequences can depend on jurisdiction and order details. See Tesla’s U.S. ordering support and your order agreement.

Which option makes sense for your situation?
| Option | When it may fit | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Keep the order and monitor the app | You still want the ordered vehicle and can wait for an updated schedule. | Tesla does not guarantee a replacement date until the delay is resolved. |
| Check existing inventory | You need a vehicle sooner and are open to an available vehicle. | Availability and faster delivery are not assured. |
| Ask about a different vehicle assignment | The assigned pickup location does not work for you. | After VIN assignment, Tesla says it cannot move that vehicle; reassignment may significantly affect the estimate. |
| Cancel | You no longer want to proceed with the order. | Fees and other consequences depend on the agreement and local rules. |
These are practical choices, not guaranteed remedies. For a decision involving money or legal rights, rely on the agreement presented for your order and applicable local rules rather than general U.S. app guidance.
