Tencent EdgeOne Makers is a platform for building and deploying websites and AI agents on Tencent EdgeOne. Its documented workflows include importing a Git repository, starting from a template, or uploading eligible website projects; for agents, developers can use a console template or scaffold and deploy from the CLI. Tencent lists a free edition with specific usage limits, but the reviewed documentation does not establish commercial-edition pricing or prove that a production-ready app can be shipped in minutes.
What Tencent EdgeOne Makers is
Makers is Tencent EdgeOne’s Web-and-Agent development and deployment platform. Tencent describes it as an upgrade of EdgeOne Pages: the previous product logic and features remain, with native AI Agent support added. The platform is presented as covering frontend hosting, dynamic APIs, edge and cloud functions, and agent hosting. See Tencent’s product introduction.

This is a review of the documented product and workflows, not a hands-on performance or reliability test. Tencent’s “in minutes” framing should be treated as a product claim, not a verified setup-time result. Actual effort depends on the project, framework, dependencies, configuration, account and region.

Tencent documents three ways to start a website project: connect a Git repository, choose a template, or upload project files directly. Direct upload skips repository connection. Its website deployment guide positions Makers for static sites, serverless applications and full-stack projects.
#1 Best Overall
- Choose a project source. Import a repository for a connected development workflow, start from a template, or use direct upload where that workflow fits.
- Configure and deploy. Follow the Makers console flow for the selected project. The specific settings and build requirements depend on the project; the documentation does not establish that every framework version or configuration works without adjustment.
- Verify the deployed app. Check the resulting site and its dynamic routes, APIs and other required behavior before relying on it. Deployment alone does not demonstrate production readiness.
Tencent names Next.js full-stack projects, Astro-generated static sites and React single-page applications in its product introduction. Its deployment Skills documentation also lists Nuxt, Vue, Hexo, SSR/ISR-capable projects and agents. These are documented support paths, not an independent compatibility test across all versions or configurations. See Tencent’s product introduction and deployment Skills documentation.
How do you create and deploy an AI Agent?
Tencent documents both a template-first route through the Makers console and a CLI route. Its sample CLI sequence is:
Rank #2
- HTML CSS Design and Build Web Sites
- Comes with secure packaging
- It can be a gift option
edgeone makers create --template openai-agents-starter-node
cd openai-agents-starter-node && edgeone makers dev
edgeone makers deploy
The first command creates a project from the named starter, the second enters the project and starts local development, and the final command deploys it. These are Tencent’s documented commands, not a timed walkthrough or guarantee that an arbitrary agent will deploy without additional setup. The full process is in the Makers agent development guide.
Recommended Free Tools
Tencent says its templates include starters for Claude Agent SDK, OpenAI Agents, LangGraph, DeepAgents and CrewAI, plus framework-free Python and JavaScript options. Its agent framework support page lists these frameworks and language options. Framework availability does not by itself establish compatibility with every dependency, model, tool or application design.

What is included in the agent runtime?
Tencent describes Makers Agents as a managed environment for model calls, agent-loop orchestration and business logic. The documented design also includes isolated sandbox APIs for browser use, code execution, shell and file operations; framework-adapted conversation and session management; tracing and observability; and built-in model access. These are vendor-documented capabilities, not an independent security or performance assessment. Evaluate each feature against the controls and behavior your application requires. Details appear in Tencent’s Makers Agents overview.
The documentation distinguishes two runtime patterns:

- Brand: Wiley
- Set of 2 Volumes
- A handy two-book set that uniquely combines related technologies Highly visual format and accessible language makes these books highly effective learning tools Perfect for beginning web designers and front-end developers
- Session workloads: Code in
agents/is routed byconversation_id, with session stickiness while a conversation is active. - Stateless requests: Code in
cloud-functions/handles request-oriented workloads without the session pattern.
Tencent says agent execution can be configured for up to 60 minutes. That is a documented maximum, not evidence that workloads will sustain that duration or meet a particular latency target.

What are the documented free-edition limits?
Tencent’s current documentation lists the following free-edition allowances. These are vendor-published quotas, not independent evidence of sustained production capacity, and they may change. Agent and sandbox allowances are separate categories.
| Category | Documented free-edition allowance |
|---|---|
| Agent executions | 200,000 per month |
| Agent total memory time | 100,000 GB-s per month |
| Maximum Agent request runtime | 3,600 seconds |
| Maximum Agent session idle time | 300 seconds |
| Maximum concurrent running Agent sessions | 40 |
| Sandbox memory time | 100,000 GB-s per month |
| Maximum concurrent sandbox sessions | 20 |
| Maximum sandbox instance runtime | 3,600 seconds |
| Default sandbox timeout | 300 seconds |
The same overview says new users receive a limited-time 500,000-token model trial quota per account, shared across projects. It is a trial allowance, not a recurring monthly quota. Consult the Agent overview and quotas for current terms.
Is EdgeOne Makers free, and what does it cost?
Tencent’s Agent documentation says Makers currently offers a free edition and that a commercial edition is planned. The reviewed documentation does not specify commercial pricing or its quotas; Tencent says those details will be announced through the console after release. Check the console for current terms before estimating costs or choosing a plan. The free-edition limits above should not be read as a guarantee of suitability for a production workload.
What to check before using Makers for a real application
- Account and region: Tencent distinguishes China-site accounts from international-site accounts on
edgeone.aiand says their account systems are independent. The reviewed materials do not establish complete feature or quota parity. Confirm the applicable account, services and availability for your deployment. - Application requirements: Validate the exact framework version, build process, routes, APIs, dependencies and integrations your app uses; framework names on a support list are not a configuration-specific compatibility guarantee.
- Agent behavior and safeguards: Test model access, conversation handling, sandbox operations, tracing and failure behavior for your intended workload. Documentation of these facilities is not a substitute for security review or operational testing.
- Capacity and cost: Compare expected usage with the published quotas and verify the latest console terms. The listed allowances do not demonstrate sustained throughput or provide a commercial cost estimate.
Verdict
EdgeOne Makers is a documented option for developers who want a Tencent EdgeOne workflow spanning web deployment and agent development, including templates, Git or upload-based website starts, and CLI-based agent scaffolding. Its listed frameworks, managed runtime features and free-edition quotas give developers concrete paths to investigate. The available documentation alone cannot show that a particular app will deploy in minutes, meet production requirements, or have predictable commercial costs; those depend on hands-on validation and current account terms.
