You can host a Next.js app with a Three.js procedural asset studio on Tencent EdgeOne Makers by following the platform’s documented workflow: create or connect a project, deploy it through the Makers CLI or SDK, and then check the status and open the preview URL. Tencent’s documentation covers that deployment path. It does not cover your scene code, your AI provider, or whether the studio’s 3D features work in the deployed build, so those checks are yours to run before you treat the deployment as working.
What Makers is and what Tencent says it supports
Tencent describes EdgeOne Makers on its product page as a platform for web and agent development and deployment. The product introduction puts it this way: “EdgeOne Makers is a Web and Agent development and deployment platform built on the Tencent EdgeOne infrastructure” (Tencent Cloud, EdgeOne Makers product page).

The same page says Makers supports mainstream full-stack frameworks, including Next.js, and rendering modes such as SSR and ISR. Read that as a general capability statement. It does not confirm the exact Next.js version, router type, or runtime your studio needs, and it does not say which rendering mode suits a 3D scene. Tencent’s application overview also lists the documented application categories (Tencent EdgeOne, Makers overview).

- A Next.js project that builds locally with your package manager’s build command. A build that fails on your machine will fail on the platform.
- The project’s source in a Git repository, if you plan to use repository import, or a local folder if you plan to use direct upload.
- Your Three.js scene rendering in a local browser session, so you can separate app bugs from deployment bugs.
- Any AI provider credentials kept out of client-side code and out of the repository. Store them as environment variables configured for the deployment, not as literals in components.
- Access to Makers. The pages cited here do not spell out account or plan requirements, so confirm them on the product page before you begin.
Choose how the project enters Makers
Tencent’s quick deployment guide lists three routes for creating a project. The guide establishes that each route exists, but it does not give the limits that would decide between them for a studio app.

If your studio loads large model or texture files, check the upload and asset size limits on the Makers pages before choosing direct upload. Otherwise, repository import keeps your deployment reproducible from source.
Deploy with the Makers CLI
The official CLI documentation covers project creation, initialization of an existing app, local development, and production or preview deployment (Tencent EdgeOne, EdgeOne CLI documentation). The sequence below follows that documented set of commands.

edgeone makers initif your Next.js studio already lives in a folder. Run it from that project’s root. - Run local development using the local development mode in the CLI documentation. Confirm the Three.js scene renders and the asset-generation flow responds before you deploy.
- Deploy to production with
edgeone makers deploy. - Deploy a preview using the preview option described in the same CLI documentation. The guide cited here does not name the exact flag, so copy it from that page rather than from memory.
Deploy programmatically with the SDK
Tencent’s SDK example treats deployment as two separate operations. The initial deploy call returns deployment identifiers. A later wait operation returns the completion information and the preview URL (Tencent Cloud, Creating a Deployment, updated 2026-09-15).

This split matters for a studio app. Store the identifiers returned by the deploy call so the wait step can be retried or logged independently. The example does not show error handling, so add your own timeouts and logging around the wait operation.

Verify the deployed studio
- Check the deployment status in the Makers workflow, and confirm it reports completion before you open the preview.
- Open the preview URL and confirm the Three.js canvas draws without console errors.
- Generate one asset end to end, from prompt to rendered model, and confirm the AI call succeeds from the deployed URL, not just from localhost.
- Reload the page and confirm assets still load, which catches build-output paths that only work in development.
App-specific checks the platform documentation does not settle
Tencent’s documentation describes the platform. It does not verify that your application’s parts work together on it. These are the checks that decide whether the studio runs.
Separate browser rendering from server rendering
A Three.js scene draws in the browser through WebGL. Server-side rendering of the page shell does not render the 3D canvas. Mark components that touch window, the canvas, or the WebGL context as client components, or load them dynamically with SSR disabled. Then confirm that the server-rendered HTML does not reference browser-only objects, because that failure appears only after deployment.

Confirm the Next.js version and router
The platform overview confirms Next.js support in general, not a specific version or routing model. Record your Next.js version and whether you use the app router or the pages router, then check both against the Makers documentation before deploying.

Procedural studios often ship generated or static models, textures, and shader files. Decide whether they are bundled with the build or fetched at runtime. Then confirm their paths resolve under the deployed URL, and check the size of each asset against the upload and deployment limits you verified earlier.

Keep AI credentials on the server
Nothing in Tencent’s cited material establishes how Makers stores or injects secrets, or which AI provider your studio uses. Route AI requests through server-side code, read keys from environment variables configured for the deployment, and never ship them to the browser bundle. Check the built JavaScript for the key name or a key prefix before you go live.
Test server routes in the deployed mode
If your studio uses Next.js route handlers to call the AI provider or store generated assets, test each route against the preview URL. The platform documentation confirms SSR and ISR as supported modes but does not describe how each route behaves in every mode, so do not assume a route that works under next dev behaves the same way once deployed.
Read the performance claims with their qualifiers
Tencent’s product page displays three headline network figures. The page does not give a publication year for any of them, and Tencent presents them as platform claims rather than measurements for your app or your visitors.

No independent performance study of these figures was found, so measure your own studio’s asset load times and generation latency from the regions your users actually occupy.
Bottom line
Makers covers the hosting and deployment half of this project through documented routes, a CLI, and an SDK with a separate wait step. The studio itself is your responsibility to verify: its client-side rendering, its asset paths, and its AI calls must all work from the preview URL before you rely on the deployment.
