But the motor rating differs between Tefal’s regional listings: Indonesia lists a 350 W BL477, while Australia lists an 800 W version. That makes the exact market and product reference essential—and the available evidence is manufacturer information, not hands-on testing.
First, identify which BL477 you’re considering
Tefal’s regional product pages do not describe one uniform specification. Its Indonesia listing gives the BL477 a 350 W motor; its Australian page gives an 800 W rating. Tefal’s support page also lists the specific reference BL477B60 at 800 W. Check the full reference on the appliance label or listing before using either figure to judge a particular unit.

The figures belong to those specific regional listings; they should not be combined into a universal BL477 specification. The 2 L jug is also not the same as the listed usable blending volume: the Indonesia and Australia pages both specify 1.25 L blending capacity.

What features are listed?
Tefal Australia lists five modes—sauce, smoothie, soup, puree and ice crush—along with pulse. Its page describes a removable Smart Lock blade system with a three-point system, air cooling and a grinder for spices, coffee beans, dried fruit, almonds and nuts. Tefal Indonesia also lists five preset modes, pulse, ice crushing, automatic cleaning, removable blades with an anti-leak system, suction-cup feet, air cooling and a multipurpose grinder.

These are manufacturer-listed features, not independently verified findings about blending quality, noise, leakage, durability or cleanup. The Australian page says Tefal internal tests conducted in 2020 found the blender could crush eight ice cubes in one minute using pulse. That is a dated manufacturer test claim, not an independent benchmark.
The official listings make the BL477 look versatile on paper, but they do not establish how well it handles particular recipes or how it compares with other blenders. They also do not resolve whether a grinder is included with every regional version; confirm the contents for the exact reference before buying.

How to use it without overloading the jug
Tefal’s support guidance gives a straightforward loading order and preparation limit:

- Keep the contents below the MAX line marked on the jug.
- Cut food into pieces no larger than 2–3 cm for best results.
For dry ingredients, Tefal’s FAQ recommends pulse bursts of two seconds, for no more than three minutes, followed by a 15-minute pause before restarting. Keep the lid or guard in place, and never put a hand into a jug while it is on the motor base. The bowl should not be put in a microwave.

Cleaning and care
Tefal advises unplugging the motor base and wiping it with a damp cloth. Wash the jug with soapy water or washing-up liquid. Although the BL477B60 support listing describes dishwasher-safe parts, Tefal’s FAQ cautions that dishwasher suitability varies by bowl; check the instructions for the exact appliance rather than assuming every part is dishwasher safe.
What to check if something goes wrong
- The blade does not rotate easily: Reduce the quantity or size of the food, or add liquid.
- The appliance vibrates excessively: Put it on a flat, stable surface and reduce the amount of ingredients. If vibration continues, contact an approved repair centre.
- The cord is damaged: Do not use the appliance. Have the cord replaced by an approved repair centre.
- The appliance leaks: The support FAQ includes this question, but the cited material does not provide a specific remedy. Stop using it if liquid is escaping and consult the instructions or Tefal support for the exact reference.
Price, warranty and replacement parts depend on the market
When accessed in 2026, Tefal Indonesia’s listing showed Rp 745,000 and marked the product sold out. That is a market-specific, changeable listing, not a current price or availability guarantee elsewhere. The same listing states a one-year warranty and parts availability for 15 years; confirm current terms with Tefal in your region.

Tefal’s support site directs owners to the product’s Accessories section to look for accessories, consumables and spare parts. It does not establish that a particular jar, blade, gasket or other part fits every BL477 variant. Verify both the full appliance reference and the exact part number with Tefal before ordering.
Verdict: a potentially flexible blender, but verify the exact version
The BL477’s listed programs, pulse function, grinder and 1.25 L blending capacity may suit someone looking for several blending tasks in one appliance. The key buying caveat is regional variation: official Tefal listings give different motor ratings, and the available performance evidence is manufacturer-supplied rather than independent. Check the full reference, included accessories, local warranty and parts support before deciding.
